It’s well past time to radically reorient the Palmetto State’s failed approach to this once-competitive asset.

Our company helped build the Hugh Leatherman Port. Every time I went to the Port, I saw a disaster in the making. The lack of clear engineering management was obvious. Sadly, this disaster costs the SC Citizens $$$$ Billions. It even included the raising of the Cooper River Bridge. So, throw that cost into it too.

I was shocked at how badly the entire port system was being run. They didn’t even have trains available to remove the cargos. Then they picked a stupid fight with the Long Shoreman’s Union. Which lead a boycott of the port. Just idiots.

My company refused to work at the Hugh Leatherman Port, when they asked for 60 day payments. Total BS, we were already giving them 30 days. Which is more than enough. Considering, Payment upon demand immediately is how our business is normally run. We could see the end coming and refused to loan the Port any of our time or money.

Agreed, the entire Port Board and management, top to bottom, need to be fired. Don’t allow these incompetent characters near any State Facilities in the future. Hire professionals to run the Port, who have proven success at other ports. Or, sell the entire facility to independent operators.

SC Citizens deserved better than this “Key Stone Cops,” blowing our money on Blue Sky projects. “Show us the profits,” before losing our money. DISGUSTING CHARACTERS, ALL OF THEM. We knew it from the very beginning. Working with them was a Sh&& Show. SAD, SAD, SAD, some of them should go to Prison.
