First reported as a 3.7; which is likely accurate. Possible 3.0 – 3.7. A significant earthquake. Homes near the Lake Murray Dam received major shaking, pictures falling off walls, items falling from shelves, and possible home damage to walls and foundations. This was no joke, a major scare. Reminds all, why the Lake Murray Double Dam was built. The Charleston quake left numerous areas of Soil liquefaction in the Dam’s location. That would have failed the older soil dam. Hopefully, the concrete and rock backup dam will hold, if we have another big one.
