The facts presented in your article are indisputable. However, your characterization of Senate president Hugh Leatherman as “liberal” is quite the stretch. Senator Leatherman is a dyed-in-the-wool Republican who could never remotely be considered “liberal” by today’s standards.
Please don’t insult us liberals by including Leatherman among our ranks.

Kim: Thanks for submitting this letter. Personally, I believe a guy who presides over the obscene expansion of government taxing, borrowing and spending – yet fails miserably to improve outcomes for taxpayers or citizens – is a “liberal.” You are correct on one point, though. By current South Carolina standards he is indeed a “dyed-in-the-wool Republican.” Oh well, glad to have your input! Look forward to more letters from you in the future.
