Law enforcement sources have identified the suspect shot by police on Sunday morning in Woodruff, South Carolina during the Palmetto State’s latest officer-involved shooting.
Victor Thomas Farmer, 20, of Easley, S.C. was identified by police as the suspect in the incident – the fourth officer-involved shooting of the new year. Farmer is a white male.
As noted in our original coverage of this incident, Farmer was shot early Sunday by a white, male off-duty Laurens County, S.C. sheriff’s deputy who was pursuing him in connection with an alleged car theft.
The shooting took place during a foot pursuit near the rail road tracks behind North Main Street in Woodruff.
According to our sources, Farmer was on probation at the time of the shooting on a burglary charge. He has a lengthy criminal history including convictions for public disorderly conduct, malicious injury to real property, third degree assault and battery, resisting arrest, shoplifting and credit card theft.
He will obviously be facing a slew of new charges in the aftermath of this incident …

Local law enforcement told reporters that Farmer has a history of drug use and may have been under the influence of drugs at the time of the shootout.
