TWITTER IS #TRIKKI ..
Once again, United States ambassador to the United Nations (UN) Nikki Haley is in hot water over her Twitter account.
Last week Haley was accused of an alleged violation of the Hatch Act … this week she’s being accused of exercising poor political judgment.
“Spending my 4th in meetings all day,” Haley tweeted on the Fourth of July. “#ThanksNorthKorea.”
Haley’s tweet was a response to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK)’s first successful test of a true intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).
Not everyone found it humorous …
“While I appreciate your service to our nation, perhaps you should be thanking the nearly 200,000 US troops serving overseas on #FourthOfJuly,” Andrew Weinstein, a political appointee of former U.S. president Barack Obama responded, “not to mention those protecting our homeland, including the police officers, firefighters, and other first responders keeping us safe today.”
Ouch …

On the other end of the political spectrum, our intrepid D.C. Operative was even more blunt in his criticism of Haley.
“What an entitled little bitch,” he observed. “Our boys in Korea don’t even get to have their families with them and she’s whining about some meetings?”
Damn … tell us how you really feel, man.
Once again, we can certainly appreciate the merits of this particular line of criticism against Haley … but we struggle to see its underlying value.
Again, these are tweets … right? Here today? Gone tomorrow?
Do they really have anything to do with her performance?
As noted in our prior coverage, Haley was a disaster as governor of South Carolina, and was well on her way to becoming a disaster as UN ambassador until she was fitted for a choke collar by the administration of Donald Trump.
Anyway, Haley’s outcomes – to the extent she’s still responsible for them – are what we should be focused on, not getting our blouses wrinkled over an ill-conceived tweet.
Accordingly, for the second time in as many weeks we’re scoring this as a “nontroversy.”
