YOUTH IS SERVED IN LANCASTER COUNTY STATE HOUSE RACE

A recent graduate of The Citadel is running as a Democrat for an open seat in the S.C. House of Representatives.

Tyler Mitchell, who is currently in law school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, filed his paperwork to run for S.C. House District 45 (map here).  The seat is currently held by “Republican” Deborah Long, who is not seeking another term.

Previously the seat was held by U.S. Rep. Mick Mulvaney.

Mitchell, 23, lives in Indian Land, S.C. and is a graduate of Indian Land High School.  He apparently had quite the rough upbringing – including a stretch during his high school years when his family was actually homeless.

His supporters describe him as a “centrist” Democrat … whatever that means.

Assuming no one else files for the seat, Mitchell would face off in November against 21-year-old Brandon Newton, a “Republican.”  Such a race would likely draw attention given how young the two candidates are.

Newton filed his paperwork, too, accompanied by his girlfriend Allison Meadows.

What kind of “Republican” is he?  Guess we’ll find out over the next few months …

I’m beginning to think most of government are just stepford people. We just have them to keep up appearances.

Young fella sounds like he has a bright future

Hope someone has advised him that once he turns into a professional politician he will morph from the body and soul his parents gave him and forever be a Fuckin’ Cockroach

Relevant work experience = absolutely none. Some other asshole looking to further his ambulance chasing career through contacts he gets in the State House. Clients tend to think having a State Rep/Senator as their lawyer holds additional weight with judges. It doesn’t – it just fattens the wallets of these lazy, trashy lawyers. David Thomas and Bakari Sellers come to mind. I’m sure their are others like Tiny Turd Trey Harrell waiting in the wings.

Well, at least being a Citadel Grad, we have the hope that he will be honest.
Although not all Citadel Grads in office have worked out, i.e. Ravenel Lt. Gov.
Citadel Grad errors have been mostly stupid poor judgement, not dishonesty. Which is inexcusable for any Citadel Grad: ever!

Both candidates being relatively young is a good sign for SC Politics. It demonstrates that the youth are not taking the political processes for granted: becoming part of the solution instead of the problem.

My you Citadel kiddos have short memories. What about Gresham Barrett a former Citadel boy soldier who apparently had pecker troubles up in DC. When the hell are you kids going to remove that red rag from your campus?

Well Fred Fart, I didn’t say we didn’t have elected officials who made bad judgements. I said Citadel Grads are generally most honest and not crooks. Just sometimes stupid.

We’ll take down that RED flag when you dolts stop thinking the Civil War was all about you and slavery. Which it was not.

So, stop humoring yourselves, and start making sure none of the Civil War symbols are removed. Less, people forget and slavery becomes fashionable again as a nice profit making adventure. Which is what the Civil War was all about in the first place: GREED, not slavery. which was just one of the many symptoms of unbridled GREED!

You must have been a History major at “el cid” or dropped the soap to many times, as you are all fucked about the cause of the Civil War. Read your history books soldier boy, read your history.

Studied it throughly.
History is not what you think it “feels like.”
It is what it is, see below summary.

Greed caused the Civil War, Slavery was just a symptom.

Greedy Yankees wanted Cotton for their factories where they employed virtual slaves: the Irish. Certain greedy Southerners wanted more money, so they switched from rice and other products to grow cotton on Plantations for Yankee Factories.

Yankees got the slaves in Africa and brought them to the Cotton fields to be sold and worked. That was called the Slave trade triangle (New England>African Ivory Coast>Charleston/Savannah): check it out.

1850s, Southerners got a better offer for their cotton by selling directly to Europe by passing their Yankee partners. Yankees then passed numerous unconstitutional laws to stop it, setting up South against the crooked North controlled Federal Courts.

Finally, unable to stop the sale of Cotton to Europe competitors, Greedy Yankee Factory owners decided to try and stop it by getting rid of the very slaves they had sold. Thus, Abolitionist movement got funded and the rest is history.

Blacks lost every way: slaves for Yankee Factories and Greedy Plantation owners. Then blamed for the Civil War they had nothing to do with in the first place. Then children stuck with the miss understanding of it all thinking it was all about them. When nothing could be further from the truth.

fred farkel March 18, 2016 at 7:26 pm

Apparently you didn’t study History thoroughly as most everything you stated is incorrect. To cut to the chase and to make one quick point,it was the Confederate Congress that increased production, sales and prices to Europe, and the U.S. government imposed embargos and finally blockades to suppress the CSA to gain money it needed for it’s war effort, this after the CSA succeeded.Nothing unconstitutional about any act when the U.S. government was at war with the CSA. You really make yourself stupid and juvenile when you use the term “Yankees”. Is this what your were taught as a member of the “kiddie corps” in Charleston. Get life and grip on yourself

ELCID March 20, 2016 at 4:30 pm

My what a misguided character you are.
There was no Confederate Congress from 1840 until 1859 when all this was going on. You are just another ignorant yankee fool are just plain dumbass who whats to believe what feels right is right. So, no longer worth conversing with a fool. Bye idiot!

fred farkel March 20, 2016 at 10:35 pm

Jesus, my misguided and ill-informed old man who played soldier boy at a second rate institution not only is your history terrible but reading comprehension sucks. I stated the Confederate Congress increased production, sales and prices to Europe, with no reference to a time frame, assuming you would know that this illegal body, Confederate Congress, was in effect 1861 to 1865 till your CSA surrendered. I made no mention of the 1840’s or 1850’s? For your information New England & European purchases grew from 3MIL bales in 1850 to over 5MIL in1860. When the war broke out the CSA “cotton diplomacy” was the refusal to export cotton to Europe as leverage in hope that Europe would intervene, which of course didn’t! A failed policy that ruined the CSA. So I ask who is the fool, you idiot.

Patrick O’Malley hoisted his beer and said: “Here’s to spending the rest of me life between the legs of me wife!” – and he took home the top prize for the best toast of the night.

In bed later that night, he told his wife: “Mary, I won the prize for the best toast of the night.” She said, “Aye, Paddy, what was your toast?”

So he told her: “Here’s to spending the rest of me life sitting in church beside me wife.”

“Oh,” she said, “that is very nice, dear.”

The next day, Mary ran into one of Paddy’s drinking partners in the street. Mischievously, the man said: “Did you hear about your husband winning a prize in the pub the other night for a toast about you, Mary?”

She replied: “Aye – and I was a bit surprised. Till now, he’s only been down there twice. Once he fell asleep, and the other time I had to pull him by the ears to make him come”.

An Irishman named O’Malley went to his doctor after a long illness. After a lengthy examination, the doctor sighed
and said, “I’ve some bad news – you have incurable cancer. You’d best put your affairs in order.”

O’Malley was shocked but he composed himself and went to the waiting room where his son was waiting.

“Well son. We Irish celebrate when things are good, and we celebrate when things are bad. I have cancer so let’s head for the pub and have a few pints.” After three or four pints, the two were feeling less somber. There were some laughs and more beers. Eventually some of O’Malley’s old friends asked what the two were celebrating. O’Malley said that the Irish celebrate the good and the bad and that they were drinking to his impending end — “I have been diagnosed with AIDS.” The friends gave him their condolences, and more beers.

Later, O’Malley’s son whispered “Dad, I thought you said
that you had cancer. You just told your friends that you were dying from AIDS!”

O’Malley said, “I don’t want any of them sleeping with your mother after I’m gone.”

A mine collapses near a small town. An engineer survives the disaster and goes to the local bar. The bar is empty except for
one other customer. ‘Hey bartender,’ says the engineer. ‘I’ll have a beer and pour another one for my friend over there.’

The bartender replies, ‘I’m sorry, sir, but that guy’s Irish and we don’t serve his kind here.’

‘Well, you’d better because if it weren’t for that guy, I wouldn’t be here,’ says the engineer. ‘You know the mine that caved in, well I was in that mine and so was that guy. When the last of us were escaping, he held the roof of the mine up with his head! So get him a beer. If you don’t believe me, look at the top of
his head. You’ll see it’s flat from holding the roof up.’

The bartender serves the Irishman his beer then comes back to talk to the engineer, ‘I saw the flat spot on his head but I also noticed some bruising under his chin. What’s that all about?’

The engineer replies, ‘Oh, that’s where we put the jack.’

Senators Bright, Verdin and Peeler had the guts to honor
patriots and Southern heritage by voting to KEEP the flag

And there are 20 House members with steadfast loyalty whom
Tea WILL support and about whom we can brag

Those patriot House members are Bedingfield, Burns, Chumley,
Corley, Delleney, Hardee, Hill, Johnson and Kennedy

Then Loftis—Moss (both D.C. and V.S.), Nanney, Putnam,
Simrill, Spires, Stringer, Taylor, Thaylor—and let’s see

White makes twenty and that is plenty of reason to get out
and vote this year and beyond that let us just say

Legislators’ names YOU DON’T SEE HERE…let us make it crystal
clear…need to be UNELECTED on election day !!!
