Now Will Nikki Haley Reject Refugee Scam?

LET’S HOPE SO …

Establishment “Republican” S.C. governor Nikki Haley was touting herself as the daughter of the Tea Party again recently … making us wonder whether she’s pondering another ideological recalibration.  Or perhaps another wholesale reinvention.

If so, then she might want to consider reversing her current position on the establishment of new government-subsidized refugee camps in the Palmetto State – including the one we broke wide open in Spartanburg, S.C. earlier this year.

Under this scheme, the United Nations picks refugees for “resettlement” in the United States – a process paid for by U.S. taxpayers under the auspices of heavily subsidized (usually uber-liberal) nonprofits.  Many of these liberal groups masquerade as “Christian” charities, exploiting the social conservatives living in the Upstate region of the Palmetto State.

Speaking of exploitation … once federal tax dollars have gone to pay for these resettlements (via the U.S. State Department), local governments are stuck with the costs of providing for these refugees.

We have consistently opposed these settlements … and we’re not alone.

And now … in light of the gruesome terror attacks in France, several state leaders have come out against further subsidized immigration.  How come?  Because at least one of the attackers was a refugee from war-torn Syria, one of many places where American weapons have landed in the hands of some very unsavory individuals.

Three governors (none of whom are named Nikki Haley) stepped up this week – calling for an end to subsidized resettlement.

“Michigan is a welcoming state and we are proud of our rich history of immigration,” governor Rick Snyder said in a statement. “But our first priority is protecting the safety of our residents.”

“I will not stand complicit to a policy that places the citizens of Alabama in harm’s way,” governor Robert Bentley said in outlining his opposing to resettlement.

Another southern governor, Louisiana’s Bobby Jindal, wants to know whether refugees with ties to terrorist organizations have already been placed in his state.

“Louisiana has been kept in the dark about those seeking refuge in the state,” Jindal wrote in a letter to U.S. president Barack Obama. “It is irresponsible and severely disconcerting to place individuals, who may have ties to ISIS, in a state without the state’s knowledge or involvement.”

“As governor of Louisiana, I demand information,” Jindal added.

Haley?  Last time we checked she wasn’t demanding anything.  In fact she was instead defying state law and running the refugee program out of her scandal-scarred S.C. Department of Social Services (SCDSS) – even though the resettlement hadn’t received an affirmative vote from local government.

In fact Haley not only went on the record supporting the program, she’s reportedly authorized SCDSS to expand it in the coming fiscal year – again, without the local authorization state budget leaders required her to receive in advance.

Insane …

Our basis for opposing this program has always been on fiscal grounds – arguing that tax dollars routed through liberal foundations should never be expended in a way that imposes long-term obligations on South Carolina taxpayers.

If “Tea Party” Nikki Haley won’t accept that rationale, though, at the very least she ought to recognize the clear and present danger such resettlement scams pose to her citizens.  And start acting accordingly.

One of the state lawmakers who has been leading the charge against the refugee resettlements – S.C. Rep. Donna Hicks of Spartanburg – said she would press Haley on this issue.

“I have reached out to the governor regarding her position on accepting refugees to South Carolina in light of the recent attack on Paris,” Hicks wrote on her Facebook page.  “I will keep you informed.”

UPDATE: Well, well … Haley has seen the light, according to The (Charleston, S.C.) Post and Courier.  Well, sort of.  She now says her office will “put a stop to” any efforts to settle Syrian refugees in the Palmetto State.

My friend you are correct this refugee crisis is Obama/Hillary fault however Haley needs to stop accepting refugees.

If she can take the confederate flag down in ONE week and HEAL all the racial strife in America she can stop the potential terrorists from voting in 2016. :)

“No, I’m not resigning,” Rhodes said. “I really have no comment on Mr. Martin’s State of the Boz address.”

The community has been buzzing for the past week about the wreck that involved Rhodes, which led Rhodes to discuss the issue on a local morning radio show on April 6.

Martin said Rhodes had tried to hide that he was in a wreck that Martin said people had speculated involved driving under the influence – which Rhodes said isn’t true. Martin, who told the council Tuesday that he had never stated any of the information as fact, said he came to Tuesday’s meeting because he couldn’t respond on the radio to the criticisms Rhodes made of him on that radio show.

Rhodes said he was in a wreck in Aynor as he was driving a rental car to a meeting in Columbia, but he was not at fault. A copy of the accident report was not available late Tuesday.

“Mr. Martin seems to think it was a coverup because I didn’t call a press conference,” Rhodes said after the meeting. “What, am I supposed to hold a press conference to say I had a wreck?”

The people I’m talking about in that group specifically deny the Holocaust, and place the blame for all the world’s problems on Jews. They are rabid anti-Semites of the old John Birch variety. You would probably deny that Birchites were ever anti-Semitic, but they were — including the Koch family who were founding members. These are the type people who were so crazy the besmirched the name of Barry Goldwater because he (even though a Christian) had Jewish ancestry. Referred to him as “Goldwasser.” This is all real. Not your revisionist history of that era.

I don’t have to “educate” myself about this stuff. I did so back in high school. I did deep research on all the far right and far left organizations. For a long time, I was on the mailing lists of the John Birch Society, Rev. Billy James Hargis’s Christian Anti-Communist Crusade, The Socialist Worker’s Party, etc., etc. Sent for their info for a term paper I did, called “Extremism USA”, not knowing they wouldn’t stop sending me their shit.

On the far right side of it, I also read “None Dare Call It Treason”, and other similar works. There is not doubt that there are Christian rightists, still to this day, who hate all Jews. Some of them are in the KKK as well.

One of my good friends (in the soaring club) has been living in Brussels for the last couple of years on extended TDY from his job here. When I saw on the news the other day that they’d tracked down some of the accomplices of the Paris attacks to Molenbeek, a community in Belgium, I dropped him a note, and here is his response. I think his observations are more interesting and accurate than the bullshit we read on Facebook or see on TV . .
______________

Funny you should mention Molenbeek, last weekend (name redacted) and I walked through that neighborhood on one of our periodic exploratory walks of the city. We commented on the cafes that were occupied only by men drinking tea and coffee. The only small children we saw were with women, young boys were with men and in the park were groups of women. The Muslim community is not only separated from the rest of Brussels but also from each other – men from women. This radicalization has been a long time in the making both here and in Paris. North Africans were encouraged to come to Europe because of a shortage of man power but, instead of being integrated into the community, they were isolated and we are now paying the price.

Belgium has the highest number of Foreign Fighters (people who go to Syria to learn fighting techniques) per capita than any other country in the world. It is also, for whatever reason and disconcertingly, seemingly the center of, or connection with, a number of incidents including the killing of four people at the Jewish Museum here last year and the incident on the Thalys; the shooter got on the train in Brussels. Fortunately, the Belgian leadership recognizes that the situation is the fault of the political class and they need to work to correct it (fat chance of that happening in the U.S.). I think you are going to see a number of raids and enforcement activities in Belgium over the next several weeks.

You clearly don’t understand the deal here. I don’t dispute anything you just said, but if you believe republicans have any inclination to push back against the president’s agenda, then you are sadly mistaken. There would have at least been some movement by now but there has been none. As it is, the only blows to our agenda has come from the courts that you so decry. We are proud of Mr. Lawrence in helping us to dupe voters, since indeed the people are against us and our ideas are failures. Mr. Lawrence provides a valuable service by getting people to believe he’s really a republican. The people then associate a hateful lemming like him with republicans and it covers our substantive failures. He then also carries away his “friend” Pogo into acting just like him.

His announcement was less definitive than some other governors. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who like McCrory is a Republican, issued an executive order purporting to ban the resettlement of refugees in his state. However, it’s unclear that states have the power to block federal resettlement programs.

While North Carolina is the conduit for some federal refugee resettlement funding, McCrory said Monday that he did not know of any way that he could simply end resettlements.

Rather, he said, the federal government brings refugees into the country, and they are then turned over to nonprofits such as U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. The nonprofits bill the state for some of the services they provide, but that funding is underwritten by the federal government.

“As the Supreme Court explained in Hines v. Davidowitz, “the supremacy of the national power in the general field of foreign affairs, including power over immigration, naturalization and deportation, is made clear by the Constitution.” States do not get to overrule the federal government on matters such as this one.

President Obama has explicit statutory authorization to accept foreign refugees into the United States. Under the Refugee Act of 1980, the president may admit refugees who face ‘persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion’ into the United States, and the president’s power to do so is particularly robust if they determine that an “unforeseen emergency refugee situation” such as the Syrian refugee crisis exists.”

If the unmanly here are so afraid of the swarthy boys and virile men, how about giving refuge to the women, children, and elderly grandpas, the ones who need it most?

No. Then, we would forever be hearing endless guilt trips about how evil we were for, “dividing families and keeping loved ones apart”. The little muzzies grow into big ones. No, they can take their broods to whatever other sandbox country they like. When they get here, instead of eschewing the ways, customs, and brutality they purport to be fleeing, they will invariably try to cultivate those things in their new land.

We have more than enough home made problems and drama without importing more.

I don’t care if Haley bars the refugees or not. I’m more interested in the fact that Will posted a picture of her wearing something that doesn’t look like it was made out of an old coach cover…

Hey, Haley was only recycling the back seat covers of a 1957 Plymouth Station Wagon!

“I’ll take my chances with Syrian refugees/Muslims any day over trailer trash!!!”

Has any of that “trailer trash” beheaded any of your family or neighbors, or molested any of the children or animals in your neighborhood? If so, I see your point, and I would definitely be calling the police instead of posting your complaints on here.
