What is making the situation worse is the anti-American, anti-Constitution voters who elect anti-American, anti-Constitution panderers who won’t lead and explain to them that the Constitution exists ONLY because the Founding Fathers COMPROMISED on very important issues; and, that COMPROMISE was how the Founders intended for the Congress to operate and the nation to exist.
And, it worked until a few of Christian Libertarians – less than 60 in the US House and a handful in the Senate – got elected to the Congress and decided they would bully the majority into submission – tyranny of a minority is what we have now.
And, that minority needs to be slapped down the way the Senate slapped down the venal Ted Cruz this week.
At least, John Boehner was willing to work in a bipartisan way a few times – by simply dispensing with the Hastert Rule and letting the TRUE MAJORITY of the US House rule; MAJORITY RULE, WHAT A CONCEPT !! – to get to that TRUE MAJORITY at the times the anarchists would have led the US and world economies to total destruction.
