South Carolina police are investigating a shooting that took place in the northwest region of the capital city on Christmas Eve.

According to a statement from the Columbia Police Department (CPD), the shooting took place outside of the Rainbow apparel store located in the 200 block of Harbison Boulevard at approximately 2:45 p.m. EST. This address is at the center of a major shopping and dining district – one located just a stone’s throw away from a large mall where a recent mass shooting occurred.

“Investigators believe this is an isolated incident,” police noted.

An update provided by the department indicated a “small male child was gravely injured during the shooting incident.” Police recovered the firearm believed to have been involved in the shooting and were “interviewing the child’s mother.”

Those dang Amish, leaving their loaded muskets in the buggy while they’re in bartering eggs for bolts of cloth and sewing thimbles.

The child died. I wonder whose gun it was and if they will be punished appropriately. Apparently the car was filled with children.
