The Greeks, what a a beautiful culture
Alexander the Great, a man’s man/ Homer the author the the Iliad and the Odyssey not yet in comic book form but will be soon/ the Olympic Games – who can forget the Wide World of Sports shot of the fella coming down the ski jump, losing it and making one helluva wipe out and is given sole credit for the coining of the phrase – what the fuck
Then we have modern day Greece, a small fairly insignificant piece of shitty real estate, which is on the verge of single handily bringing down the whole economy of Europe
Today we get yet another Greek influence. Short Stack. Doesn’t quite have the ring of Alexander the Great but what the hell it is a damn good nickname for the cook at Waffle House
No doubt Short Stack will bring a lot to the table, provided he doesn’t forget his step stool, and if elected he will show the residents of Charleston the true meaning of the Greek Way
I don’t claim to know a whole lot about the problems that modern day Greece is going through, but I must say the great majority of American Greeks I have ever met were industrious, successful, people who one couldn’t help but admire and be even a bit envious of.
My Navy tour on a Greek island was a great time for me. The Greek folks I met were wonderful and were committed to their local customs of family life and so forth which worked well for them.
Two guys meet on the street and begin catching up on the family news. Finally one asks the other, “Well, how’s your wife?”
