SOME GOOD ECONOMIC NEWS …

|| By FITSNEWS ||  This week’s big economic news – government’s monthly jobs report – was absolutely terrible.

But there was some good economic news to report.  Bloomberg’s Consumer Comfort Index (CCI) – which had been sucking wind (especially in the south) – continued its upward trajectory.

The metric (.pdf here) measures consumers’ comfort level on a scale of zero to 100.  And while it currently stands at a less-than-impressive 44.0, it’s up 3.9 points over the last three weeks – regaining half of the 7.8 points it shed from April to mid-June.

That’s good news … although the fundamentals of the American economy remain exceedingly weak.

Published weekly since December 1985, the CCI records Americans’ ratings of the national economy, the buying climate and their personal finances.  Produced by Langer Research Associates, CCI data is based on 1,000 national random-sample landline and cellular telephone interviews, 250 per week (in a four-week rolling average).

Still $2.35/gallon! July 2, 2015 at 11:31 am

Another case of flip being a fucking moron and giving the worst predictions ever, next to GrandTango. I though gas was going to go as high as $4 a gallon? What happened? What a fruit! Hahahaha!

Miserable economy since 2008 July 2, 2015 at 1:13 pm

Not just gas that’s way over-inflated. Have you bought groceries lately. If you don’t have food stamps, it’s demoralizing to try to feed your family. Scary. Like Communist USSR, before Reagan broke them. No matter what the delusional government fools, and their drones spew, it’s miserable economically – and spiritually – in this country. We’re in some cloudy days. Prayer is about all we can do. The corrupt are in control and they are wreaking havoc upon the working and decent people.

Actually I bought milk Tuesday night, and noticed it had gone down at this particular store from $4.09 a gallon to $3.85.

Media euphoria ignorance-based July 2, 2015 at 1:06 pm

Funny how the liberal media always mistakes people buying the goods they must have, as good economic news for Obama. We have periods of pent up demand, loosening. People are squeezing their pennies because we’re in the worst economy, have been since 2008, since The Great Depression. And it’s not getting better. And it won’t until some fundamental, pro-American, changes are made.
When people eventually buy products they must buy, it’s just a temporary bump in the economy, if that. You’re ignorant to go running around telling us how good it’s going to be. But you do it every few months.
