I’ll go out of my way to eat at Rushes – I don’t care what 9″ says, their “barbque samiches” are good too.
Eating their Q is a sin.Hite’s was named one of the best in the nation by Esquire magazine,a manly magazine.I didn’t want to bring Q up; I have PTSD episodes when someone mentions bad Q.Lord have mercy on your soul.Amen and amen.

Different styles …some better than others.
Lowcountry’s BBQ is the best. Dukes, Sweatmans, Bessingers, Mama Browns.
Mama browns..too salty.
Kelly’s on hwy 78…good stuff, John Derst bread and all.

Esquire is a “manly” magazine???….yeah, maybe in the 1950’s when they wrote stories on African safaris and race drivers like Sterling Moss….now it’s for prissy metrosexuals.

I also love Rush’s. Their chili dogs are my favorite and I am someone who is not usually that fond of hot dogs. I love their sweet tea, some of the best in Columbia. Yes, the milkshakes are good and do not forget to try the strawberry sundae. I am not as fond of their coleslaw. I would rather go to Rush’s than any national fast food chain. Fresh products and friendly staff make this a wonderful eatery.

Rush’s does have great hamburgers… IMHO, one of the things about burger places in Columbia is that most of the expensive, known-for-burger joints are overrated… though I do like Pawleys FP pretty well. One of my local faves is the legendary blue collar/white collar dive: Macs on Laurel… their Chili Cheeseburger baskets are wonderful… but again, Rush’s is a great place!
My cardiologist’s head just exploded ’cause it may taste good, but it sure ain’t good for you.
It’s okay for fast food, their hamburger has a weird texture to it, almost like McDonalds hamburger. Maybe it’s a real fine ground hamburger, somewhere between hamburger and hotdog texture. Their chicken sandwich is good, right up there with Chick-fil-A.
