DEMOCRATIC GOVERNORS’ ASSOCIATION PARROTING “OUTBREAK” FICTION
South Carolina Democrats have plenty of ammunition to use against first-term “Republican” Gov. Nikki Haley … which is why it baffles us they are continuing to resort to lies.
Well … one big lie.
This website has reported extensively on efforts by the S.C. Democratic Party (SCDP) to lay the blame for a 2013 tuberculosis outbreak in Greenwood County, S.C. at Haley’s feet. Now national Democrats are entering the fray – echoing the state party’s false claims in a press release accompanying a new advertisement targeting Haley.
“(Haley) withheld the fact that millions of South Carolinians had their personal financial information hacked on her watch and that children had been put at risk from a tuberculosis outbreak in public schools,” Democratic Governors’ Association (DGA) communications director Danny Kanner said in a statement.
Obviously the first part of that comment – regarding the 2012 #SCHacked scandal – is 100 percent true.
However the latter part of Kanner’s claim – regarding the tuberculosis outbreak – is 100 percent false.
As this website has exhaustively reported (here, here, here, here, and here), culpability for this fiasco rests exclusively with the local school bureaucracy (specifically Greenwood School District 52). District officials ignored state law by failing to test an infected employee, then they actively engaged in a coverup after this employee infected dozens of children with the disease.
Of course Democrats are loathe to admit this because they are slaves to America’s failed government-run school system. And admitting a major failure on the part of that system would obviously deprive S.C. Senator Vincent Sheheen (their gubernatorial candidate) of one of his badly needed rhetorical crutches.
So they’re lying … looking to pin the scandal onto Haley.
Democrats don’t need to make stuff up about Nikki Haley to score major political points … she’s given them enough scandals and miscues to launch a hundred television commercials.
That’s what makes the Democrats’ ongoing reliance on this tuberculosis fiction so puzzling …

My fishing buddies & I agree that the only thing Haley has over her opponents is that she’s a gorgeous piece of ass who wears tight tight skirts.
The senseless deaths of 12 small children under her watch (DSS), the wholesale statewide security breach of citizens’ tax information (DOR), the giveaway of dredging spoil area in Jasper County to Georgia Gov. Deal (DHEC), the departure of 4 of her 13 cabinet heads — these are not enough to keep us from voting for her.

Fleeing Iraqis Relieved That Cheney Has No Regrets About War
BAGHDAD (The Borowitz Report) — Just days after former Vice President Dick Cheney said that he had no regrets about the invasion of Iraq, people fleeing their homes across that war-torn nation expressed tremendous relief that he was at peace with his decision.
As news spread that Cheney would not change a thing about the 2003 invasion, Iraqis driven out of their villages and towns by marauding terrorists called the former Vice-President’s words well-timed and soothing.
Sabah al-Alousi, who fled Mosul when ISIS militants overran it last month, said that Cheney’s confident pronouncement about the invasion of Iraq “is the first good news I’ve heard in a long time.”
“As I’ve fled from town to town, looking for a place where I might not be suddenly slain for no reason, the one thought that kept nagging me was, ‘How does Dick Cheney feel about all of this?’” he said. “I can’t tell you what a relief it is to know he isn’t losing any sleep.”
The Iraqi man said that he had been concerned that Cheney might harbor regrets about Iraq, such as the trillions of dollars spent, thousands of lives lost, W.M.D.s not found, and international disgrace of Abu Ghraib, but thanks to the former Vice-President’s recent statements, “I now see that I was worried about nothing.”
“Iraq is a scary place right now,” al-Alousi said. “The country could be broken into pieces, or become a part of an Islamic caliphate, or be the scene of unspeakable sectarian violence for years to come. But somehow, knowing that Dick Cheney would do it all over again if he could makes everything a little better.”

They booed at the decision to call 2/3rds vote yes to putting God back in the plank. You both are partially wrong. To me, the video sounded about half and half on first vote, no in the second, and back to even in the third, thus the booing when it was called 2/3rd. It is easily googled.

I would say there was a local coverup and Nikki was loath to do anything or say anything about it, amounting to a coverup. Templeton did all right in this, though. That does not give Haley a pass.

It is enlightening to check out the wrongful termination suits brought by the local longtime and experienced public health nurses who were fired only to compensate and cover for Jamie Shuster’s deliberate lack of action. You obviously are unaware of the clear e-mail trail that shows these nurses begged repeatedly for permission from Shuster (Templeton’s totally incompetent and unqualified sidekick who’s currently in charge of – gasp – all the public health forces in the state) to send word out locally and to get testing supplies once they realized the gravity of the situation. Guess what? Shuster refused to give the staff permission to do so because, being completely inexperienced in practical public health matters, she didn’t know the correct protocol for responding to such a situation and, along with her inept new DHEC administrators, focused instead on how to address the legal ramifications of the scenario should the proverbial stuff hit the fan. Well, it did. The blame lies squarely in the laps of both Shuster and Templeton, Templeton for stupidly appointing Shuster to such a tremendously critical and responsible position that she had no business holding with NO practical public health experience, NO nursing/medical experience, and NO management experience whatsoever. Then, that blame transfers directly to Haley for replacing all members of the DHEC board and for appointing a labor attorney with no relevant experience to run a PUBLIC HEALTH agency. During the ensuing investigation launched by the Senate Medical Affairs Committee, Templeton was asked why she hired Shuster and what her qualifications were, and all she could come up with was, “Well, first of all, she’s wicked smart.” WTH?? Templeton could not even begin to muster a response as to what Shuster’s management experience was (because it was simply non-existent). Templeton also lied point blank to the committee members when she denied knowledge of the situation prior to a certain date. She was most certainly aware. But, this is what you get when cronies appoint their unqualified friends to vital positions in government. Too bad the Senate Medical Affairs Committee did not have more recourse in getting rid of Templeton and Shuster at the time, but I suppose it would have taken an immediate child death for that to have happened. Unnecessary exposure due to failure to respond must be acceptable. Plus, Peeler was not about to hold his meal ticket (I mean, boss) responsible for such an abject failure. What I want to know is why Fits keeps on pushing the blame for this situation back on the school district. Do you think they are supposed to be experts in handling TB outbreaks? Of course not, that is what the state’s public health agency is for. Besides, the school district left plenty of voice mails asking for help from DHEC, but the local staff they were calling had to have the blessing of the people at the top in Columbia before doing anything in the current tyranny that exists at the agency. (Need a credible response from Templeton or her direct appointees? Crickets chirping unless there’s a photo op or publicity benefit for Templeton. However, they are plenty vocal when they find some poor scapegoat to blame.) When the hands of the troops on the ground are tied due to lack of intelligent leadership at the top, everyone is screwed. Please do not fall for Fits’ paid, ad nauseam endorsements of Templeton.
(Note: I don’t have any direct information on this matter at all, let me admit that up front. But I suspect that most of those with strong voiced opinions do not either.)

It is a tricky situation, true, but put it in a different context. If an emergency-room surgeon does not act rapidly to save the newly brought in patient because he has not heard back on an inquiry to the hospital CEO, is the surgeon somehow absolved for not acting? I doubt it. Or change it to a cop at an active crime scene.
I’d like to see more information and a bit less “give us Barabbas!”
