Haley isn’t expanding medicaid. They are finding those who were eligible before the ACA expansion but for some reason didn’t sign up. The expansion of medicaid through the ACA would insure thousands more. https://www.scdhhs.gov/sites/default/files/AffordableCareActPublicMeetingUninsuredSlides.pdf
HaleyCare is a half assed “replacement.” Meanwhile, Utah reverses course as they realize refusing the expansion is stupid as shit and only hurts themselves.
Five years from now the 26 states that took the fed money will be leagues ahead of SC, even more so than they already are. Thanks Haley, and thanks to the rest of the shitheads willing to turn down a viable solution and offer up nothing in its place.
My only hesitation to promoting a 0% income tax in SC is the influx of blue hairs that will enter the state, clogging up our highways and further expanding the medicaid rolls.
Well, what do you expect. If you’re going to get insurance to a huge population of unemployed, under-educated people willing to stay in the poorest and lowest ranking state in the Union (victorious Union) – you gots to put ’em on the Medicare.
