COLUMBIA, S.C. (October 13, 2013) – The University of South Carolina football squad climbed three notches in both major polls released today. The Gamecocks (5-1, 3-1 SEC) are the No. 11 team in the country, according to this week’s Associated Press poll and are ranked ninth in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ poll.
The Gamecocks are coming off an impressive 52-7 win at Arkansas. They will travel to Knoxville this week to face the Tennessee Volunteers (3-3, 0-2 SEC). Game time is set for noon ET and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN. The Vols are coming off a bye week.
Alabama (6-0) and Oregon (6-0) continue to hold down the top two spots in both polls. Clemson, Ohio State and Florida State round out the top 5. The Gamecocks are the fourth-ranked SEC team in both polls, trailing the Crimson Tide, LSU and Texas A&M, all Western Division squads.

A well deserved rise after ass kicking they put on the HOGS!
And think, it was just like it was a day or two ago and USC fans were talking about how this team would never win another game the rest of the season.
Yep, we even had some idiot post some long story about how he was right about his 7-5 prediction, pounding his chest before it had even happened.
There is still a long ways to go, but the rumors of USC’s impending demise have been greatly overstated.
