The Consumer News and Business Channel (a.k.a. CNBC) posted its lowest ratings in 20 years last month, according to new Nielsen numbers.
Among its prime demographic (ages 25-54), the network drew only 37,000 viewers in July. Total viewership fell to a near-decade low of 128,000. Meanwhile in the current month, three CNBC shows – “Fast Money,” “Mad Money” and “The Kudlow Report” – posted all-time low ratings.
Ouch …
CNBC isn’t the only network struggling. Left-leaning MSNBC was down by double digits this month, seeing a 28 percent decline in total viewers compared to August of 2012. “The Rachel Maddow Show” posted all-time low ratings – down 43 percent in total viewers – while “The Last Word” was down 40 percent.

Ah, Mad Money… I’m surprised anyone still watches Jim Cramer after he told people not to run away from Bear Stearns right before they collapsed.
I don’t watch cable news, but it is amazing to me that Red Eye airs at 3 am and beats almost every CNN show in ratings (it is solidly behind Anderson Cooper and just barely behind Piers Morgan).
Hard to beat the truth
It is bad form to use terms like “nobody”, “always”, “never”, etc. They are seldom true. Yes there viewership is in the pits, but “nobody” watches is a stretch.
Your headline reminds me of the old Yogi Berra statement that nobody goes to a certain restaurant because it is too crowded.
Oops! Should read “their viewership”.
You can go back to your original comment and edit it there. This is a really handy Disqus feature.
That requires me to “register” which I refuse to do. You would think that a web site that is besides itself over monitoring by NSA would not subscribe to a registration system that can track you.
I understand your objections. I am 64, however, and way too old to worry about whether the NSA or any of its paramilitary subsidiaries are going to knock down my door and shoot my dogs.
“Fat Money” and “Mad Money” equal “No Money”, how ironic.
Fox has best looking wimmin.
Gotta disagree.
The main reason I watch “Morning Joe” is to eyeball Mike Brezenski. One fine MILF – looks, brains & class all rolled up into one fine pair of legs
She really needs a show of her own. I know she is a food Nazi but I don’t give a shit. I just keep on lookin & lookin…………..
Actually, I think Imus in the Morning is the best morning show. Pleanty of news, commentary and the best sports newsman in the business – good ‘ol Warner Wolf!!!
CNBC is more right wing than Fox. There might be hope yet.
They still have an advertising base which is more than anybody can say for Fits. If it weren’t for Howie Rich’s support, Will would be stumbling around Five Points at 2 AM caging quarters and duking it out in a territorial dispute with the black guy in the Pope costume. Now there’s a bum fight I’d pay to watch!
I’m too busy watching CSPAN-2 to watch CNBC.
The fact it is summer in a non-election year has not helped their ratings.
I didn’t know CNBC had a name.
Same here. FITS is so educational.
yea… i despise both CNN and MSNBC.. hmmm maybe if they would start reporting the truth they might get some viewers back.. .
