Troubled Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan will appear on Eastbound and Down, an HBO original series set in part on the South Carolina coast.
According to gossip website TMZ, Lohan will play “the adult version” of the illegitimate daughter of the show’s protagonist – burned-out former major league baseball pitcher Kenny Powers (played by Danny McBride). It will be her first role since emerging from a ninety-day court-appointed stint in rehab.
The final season of Eastbound and Down – which is currently being filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina – will premier on September 29 on HBO. Scenes from previous seasons have been shot at Myrtle Beach’s minor league baseball stadium, though.
Among the show’s producers? Hollywood A-lister Will Ferrell.
Eastbound and Down chronicles the various misadventures of Powers, a former major league ace who winds up in the minors pitching for a fictional team in Myrtle Beach.
Our founding editor is a huge Kenny Powers fan … and has been dying for one of his signature No. 55 “Myrtle Beach Mermen” jerseys. Unfortunately his wife, the lovely Mrs. Sic Willie, nixed that $71.00 purchase during their family’s recent trip to the Redneck Riviera.
