Former S.C. Minority Leader Harry Ott (D-Calhoun) is in line to receive an agricultural appointment from the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama, multiple sources have confirmed to FITS.

According to our sources, the former top Democrat in the S.C. House of Representatives will be tapped by Obama to serve as executive director of the S.C. Farm Service Agency – a division of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Ott will resign his seat in the S.C. House to take this new position – perhaps as soon as this week. He will replace Laurie C. Lawson, who ran the agency from 1993-2001 and then again from 2009-2012.

Ott obviously knows plenty about the federal government’s involvement with farms – as his own farm has raked in hundreds of thousands of dollars in market-distorting taxpayer-funded subsidies.

No wonder Obama picked him!

They just don’t want to mention that. It’s not convenient. I’m sure the Peelers get more than their fair share of government money.

Sic Willie needs a bumper sticker I saw yesterday. “No Farms. No Food” Maybe he will get it through his thick skull where all that food he sees in his local grocery store comes from as well as the fact that food is not Democrat or Republican.

Harry has been a friend for 41 years since we met at SC’s finest institution of higher learning. He has forgotten more about his specialty, Agiculture, than “The Founding Editor,” Will Folks, will ever know of his own specialty.

Wait you say! What is Folk’s specialty?? Asshattery you say?!

I quite agree.
