We’re not going to mourn for Shain Gandee, the star of MTV’s redneck reality TV show Buckwild. We just can’t do it. We’re sorry he died, sure, but if you were ever looking for an example of necessary herd-thinning – this is it.
Gandee and two others died near their home of Sissonville, West Virginia of carbon monoxide poisoning after the 1984 Ford Bronco in which they were traveling got stuck in the mud – its tailpipe submerged and unable to vent the toxic gases.
What a way to go, right?
Gandee, 21, was joined in death by his 48-year-old uncle, David Gandee, and their friend Robert Myers, 27.
The trio was last seen at a bar in Sissonville at 3:00 a.m. EDT on Sunday morning, at which time they informed “patrons” at the establishment of their plan to go “muddin.”
Autopsies have yet to be performed, but our guess is they didn’t choose a designated driver. In fact one of Gandee’s last tweets (posted a few hours before his disappearance) read as follows.

“We are shocked and saddened by the terrible news about Shain Gandee, and those involved in this tragic incident,” an MTV spokesperson said in a statement.
Really? Three drunk rednecks die after getting stuck in the mud and it’s a national tragedy? Okay. And while we understand the “saddened” part … is anybody really “shocked” by this?
We’re talking about West Virginia, people … a state where snake-handling preachers get killed by their venomous serpents.
Let’s chalk this “tragedy” up in that category, shall we? As well as God telling MTV to start playing music video again … you know, as opposed to a steady stream of the reality television devoted to the very worst exploits of the dregs of society.

Carbon monoxide poisoning? Wouldn’t they be fine if they had just rolled down the windows all the way? Wouldn’t it be a good idea to get some kind of mod to avoid the tail pipe getting covered up like that?

Today Bob got up on time and kissed his wife before going to work. While at work he did his job as required and was thanked by his supervisor. On his way home he stopped by the store and picked up the milk his wife asked him to get. Once at home he fed the dogs, picked up a piece of trash that had blown into his yard then went in and had supper. After watching TV for a couple hours Bob and his wife went to bed.
If it wasn’t for stupid this would be a boring place to live. You come to this site to read about stupid and comment on such. Some here say you are stupid for your remarks but actually you are just bored and wish others to know your thoughts. In one way or another it’s all entertainment. Besides, if anybody printed/published anything like the first paragraph they would be out of business in short order; even you would be a patron of such publications.

He lived in the hills, passed his time partying and, hell, he even had a shot at a little “fame”. He was living his dream, and pissing on no one. My hat is off for this one. Sure, he wasn’t adding anything but he sure as hell wasn’t taking. So he liked riding 4 wheelers and you like riding pockfaced hairey future gubnas. Live and let live.

I realize that I’m the only person who watched this show, because I have insomnia and a DVR, and I love a good train wreck, but the sheer irony of how he died is truly the shocking part. Its too ironic. The shenanigans that he and his castmates on the show pulled off made Jackass look dull. And then he dies by carbon monoxide inhalation??? Its too much!
