Nancy Mace In Negotiations With FITS

We try to keep “programming notes” to a minimum around here, but given the recent buzz surrounding a member of the FITS family we felt it was important to keep our readers in the loop.

Nancy Mace – a co-owner of FITSNews, Inc. – has entered into negotiations to sell her share of the business. For the record, Mace has never had anything to do with the editorial content of FITS, she has handled advertising, marketing, search engine optimization and other technical tasks (in addition to overseeing our recent site redesign).

We think the world of her, obviously, and while we’re not sure what she’s got planned for the future (she’s been as non-committal with us about the rumors surrounding her potential candidacy for the U.S. Senate as she has been with other media outlets) we know she’ll be successful.

Certainly more successful than the other candidate contemplating a challenge against U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham …

Now … as for her success negotiating with the notoriously shrewd Sic Willie?

We shall see …

You two have made a very good team, and I’ll miss your input. I’ve put her photo on my desktop (for a week, anyway). Nancy, keep us posted on your new endeavors – perhaps you will contribute some articles to Fitsnews for us. Best wishes!

Maybe Mace can take the $5 FITS gives her in Sunset CarWash Ladies’ Day coupons and and put them in her campaign fund…I still think he overpaid….

For what it is worth, the State also revamped their web site around the same time FITS’ new design rolled out. The design is good. The design is future ready for touch screens. The site loads up fine now on my Galaxy II. The design is simple, loud, endearing. Nancy Mace and her staff are all smoking hot, talented, tenacious, and multi-talented, able to leap tall tasks in a single work week. She does good work.

It is FITS.

Here are a few clues. Your commentators ruin the brand. Some comments are so crude, asinine, repugnant, bereft of thinking, that the story is not worth loading up. Hide the comments from the story. Saves load up time on the cell, and allows discretion to avoid the cess pool. Or run the comments like Huff Post does. The current system is out of control.

Is it illegal to accept campaign funds to write up stories for or against candidates, elected officials, and not report such in disclaimers? Start taking money to run guest articles, campain info-stories, get paid to write for others. Become the political beast for the political junky. Work both sides of the aisle and get paid to do it. Transcend FITS political views, accentuate his instincts,

This will draw in advertising. The site does have good exposure, good traffic, capitalize on it. It can grow to become a national must read. Too many bylines. Narrow the focus, go after both party’s at the city/county council level, at the state level. On a national level, get the inside baseball from all, expand the brand to DC.

FITS? Libertarian and not know who William Buckley is says it all. Carry the plank and back off your opinions. We do not care what floats your boat, personal grudges or your TIVO habits. We do care about those who took an oath of office, carry a badge, write our laws…that THEY deliver what they were elected to do. Hold them accountable. Get in their face.

You can’t avoid the cesspool of comments unless Fits hides them?
Seriously?

The new design is nice but I would like to be able to move through the “top of the page”
stories without having to wait for them to move on their own.

She’s VERY good looking, giving her an instant advantage over guys in any election. Even my wife likes to vote for women. She’s sanguine, intuitive, discreet, educated at a good SC college (The Citadel), well connected. She’s got VERY good legs and . . . Well, anyway, she ought to capitalize on her knowledge and experience at FITSnews. Another girl became governor, got her picture on the front cover of TIME magazine, got famous, et cetera. Go girls !!!

I call bullshit on all of this. Mace will simply publicly disassociate herself with the site but still manage it behind the scenes. This is all a rouse to satisfy Governor’s Haley’s demand that she cut ties in exchange for her support if she runs for office. And she has no intention of running against Graham that is also bullshit she is using that rouse to boost her name recognition to challenge a lesser incumbent. Oh shit did I say that I’m sorry that was supposed to be a secret. I am surprised you did not use her photoshopped glamor shot. Too bad in reality she has clearly been beaten with the ugly stick.

Too late. Cows done left the barn.

Mace has been part of FITS during the time porn and other smut was routinely posted. It wouldn’t be an issue except she and Will were claiming FITs is news. Well, not according to professional standards of news (http://www.spj.org/ethics.asp) Mace knows (or reasonably should) FITS doesn’t meet ethics and standards of news journalism. She spent 6 years (or less) getting a graduate degree in Journalism. Trying to offload ownership responsibility for the professional standards (lack thereof) of her company is like saying Haley has no responsibility to reduce corruption of state agencies.

Haley’s failure to manage her agencies, aside from her consuming self interest in courting the repubs for national position, is due to her technical incompetency. She lacks operations management expertise.

Mace’s failure to abide by professional standards she’s trained to understand, isn’t (presumably) due to lack of understanding of journalism standards.

Mace’s focus is marketing. Politicians market themselves by telling people the pretty stories they want to hear and they ignore law for political expediency. Servants tell people the truth they need to hear and law means more than pretty stories. Servants aren’t popular. Most citizens prefer pretty stories that support their own bias rather than ugly truth.

Mace will make an outstanding politician. She knows how to make pretty. If she respects law like she does journalism ethics, she’ll fit right in, ignoring law as politically expedient.

Still, I’d vote for her anyway if she runs against Graham just to get him out.
