NASCAR is a dying enterprise. I congratulate Ms. Patrick’s success however it will not be enough to pull fans back into the stands.
Years ago the cameras spent a fair amount of time panning the stands. No more. Corporate America doesn’t want TV audiences to see there aren’t any fans.
The day Nascar decided to kill the Labor Day Southern Five Hundred Race at Darlington marked the beginning of the end.
The death blow will come when Richard Childress puts Number 3 back on the track with one of his grandsons at the wheel.

Her car is completely Illegal.
NASCAR is doing exactly what Indy Car tried to do with her. They gave her a fixed car in hopes that the attention would help attendance. Well it didn’t, in fact, it ruined attendance and Danica got kicked out of Indy Cars. Now, she comes to NASCAR, where last year in a legal car, she finished last most of time. But, NASCAR is the biggest racing Whore in the game. They are hurting and the fans are getting tired of watching the same type cars go round and round. When they can watch cars they can actually purchase run road races instead. So NASCAR sets up this little giveaway for Danica. What a bunch of crap.
If you want to see real racing, then watch F1. Where one car team costs more than the entire NASCAR field represents. And, the last woman who tried to get in a car, was last year. She wrecked while driving slowly back to the pits, hit a truck in the parking lot, put out her eye, and destroyed a multimillion dollar race car.
NASCAR: It’s the biggest joke in racing. You have to be a complete idiot to think it’s not fixed.
Geez, you cynics probably think pro wrassling is fixed too.
But it’s not like fixed cars are anything new. Remember “Smokey” Yunick?

What’s illegal about her car? Not that I’m saying you are wrong, but her average finish last year was around 18th. Races generally start at least 40 cars, I think, so she obviously didn’t finish “last most of the time.” So, if you’re wrong about that, perhaps youare wrong about her car being illegal.

By the way: I’ve raced both Stock Cars and Formula Race Cars myself. Back when they were real race cars and men, not women, drove them to win or literally died in the attempts. NASCAR is in trouble, they are looking for any way to get fans back. Ticket sales are down and dropping. I’m just pointing out their obvious farce attempt to solve the problem. Maybe they should hold a race in Japan, like Indy Car Did, so Danica can win a fixed race. So don’t hang your Homophobia on me.
