Kinda’ harsh words, JimmyLew for the Viagra Usher Boy who allows you to use his chalk board week in and week out?

You can always scroll on over and peep at the latest skank and read the evaluations from the Erection Set.

I’m still waitin’ on Sic’s book and the list of all the crank users on the football team.

A football coach that hauls ass from one end of town to the other for a Bi-Lo BBQ photo-op and then gets the cop fired, and a student body that boos the President can’t be all bad….party on up there.

HELLO! November 5, 2012 at 9:51 am

It’s only fitting that a school founded on and propelled by racism would cancel classes to encourage the outsting of a black president. TG Clemson, Tillhman, and Ol’ Strom would be proud!

“I want to tell you that there’s not enough troops in the army to force the southern people to break down segregation and admit the Negro race into our theaters, into our swimming pools, into out homes, and into our churches.” – J. Strom Thurmond, ’23

HELLO! November 5, 2012 at 10:05 am

Tillman, not Tillhman, was the name of SC’s 84th governor and US Senator from 1895-1918, and the man who – in addition to being an unabashed white supremacist promoting lynching laws – had an instrumental role in the establishment of Clemson College, serving as one of its original trustees.

HELLO!,

Your math skills are showing again. Thurmond was not alive during the founding of Clemson. If your “point” is that he went to Clemson and was racist, therefore Clemson is racist, then what does David Duke going to LSU make them? I am sure you can generate a whole list of “undesirables” who attended each and every university in the country. What does that prove?

Next, point out to us how Clemson was “founded on” racism. Was South Carolina College or any other public college in SC integrated in 1889?

Because SC would totally go blue if a bunch of Clemson students had to find time to vote between Philosophy 101 and English 201?

Honestly… Even I know my vote for Obama is in all actuality meaningless. The electoral college ensures your vote doesn’t mean jack shit unless you’re in a swing state.

Somebody should inform the Vice President for Academic Affairs, W. Franklin Evans, at SCSU about S.C. Code Section 59-1-370. He sent out an email noting that classes will be held on Nov. 6.

As has FMU and CCU, looks like SCSU is the only state school violating the law – no huge surprise there.

Lander University is also violating state law by staying open, and they’re using the same excuse Clemson did that they moved fall break to October so now classes HAVE to be held on election day in violation of state law, instead of doing something reasonable such as starting classes for the semester a day earlier. Ridiculous!

Todd,
“…The Citadel is the #1 public college in the South…” but you left off the part about “…in the category “Top Public Schools Regional Universities (South)”.

The Citadel competes in a small subset of the National Rankings where real universities dwell but don’t let that ruin your fond memories of soap on a rope and short arm inspections…

The operative word is “college”. Therefore no university and in particular no research university was eligible for this “award”.

To all of you who despise CU, CU keeps moving on. It does matter what you say, write or do. CU does not give you or FitsNews the time of day. It’s people like you and FitsNews that give our state a bad reputation.

Wow, and all along I thought this maybe, just maybe, was going to be an actual alternative for real news/journalism, with The State now planing to charge for viewing their news on-line soon; instead it’s just another sloppy opportunity to slant against CU,with unfounded “documentation” if other universites are doing the same day off. Too bad.
statements like this:
‘Of course it’s not like Clemson has ever considered itself bound by state law … one of many reasons why this website has consistently argued that it should pursue its destiny as a private institution.’
-leave you at best, nothing but an irresponsible opinion site.

OBTW-Clemson was the first of it’s stature in SC to integrate, for all you race-baiter-tater-haters.Harvey Grant went on to be mayor of Charlotte and other ventures with high regard as a CU grad. Get real, folks. And grow up.
