He meddles for his own benefit. He just wants fame, power, recognition, a sense that everyone waits on bated breath for him to tell them what to do. Nothing else matters.

Republicans are only 10 years in on wandering the desert convinced the next 30 are going to be a golden age as Trump straps the country down with massive debt, a declining empire, gutted institutions and infrastructure, and yet another forever war that is likely to tank our economy before much longer.

When the dust blows across the legacy of Ozymandias 2.0 just remember you were told from day 1 what to expect.

Trump does have that golden calf, er, statue of himself at Trump National Doral Golf Club.

He is building a Cinderella Ballroom that no other president wanted. Trump flies around in a flying palace; the $400 million bribe from the Qatari royal family has an effing chandelier! The Arch de Trump that he wants to build at Arlington National Cemetery looks more like a mausoleum.

Bit of a correction: the new airplane was already announced and in the works in the Biden admin. If the Qataris were bribing anyone, it was Biden; they were prolly counting on him getting a second term for them to make their “margin call.” But you’re right about everything else. Arc de Trump makes me want to wretch.

There are two Boeing 747 being outfitted with the secure communications and avionics, with in-flight refueling, anti-missile defense, and EMP hardening for nuclear explosions. That’s been in process for years. It is also years late and over budget.

Trump’s shiny new plaything is the Boeing 747-8 that was used by the Qatari royal family. That is enamored with gold (Trump’s obsession), leather chairs, and also, an effing chandelier. After leaving the NATO summit in Turkey, Trump hid in a catering truck, codename “Big Mac One” and boarded a decoy plane that looks like Air Force One to return to the US.

The $400,000,000 bribe from Qatar will never become a capable Air Force One. Certainly not in the timeframe of Trump’s remaining term.

Trump’s incessant meddling in South Carolina’s politics has rubbed me the wrong way, since his first term. He shows no signs of letting up. 2029 can’t get here fast enough.

Easy on Darline, you guys!
FITS’s evocation, on his WIR today, of the teen-age beauty contestant is so off-base it is cruel.
That teen-age dumb blonde had been asked why 20% of Americans can’t find the U.S. on a map of the world. Darline was asked a very specific national security question.
I would have been worried if Darline HAD AN OPINION. Not every Joe (or Jill) Schmoe needs to have an opinion on national security.
Heck! Not even every member of Congress gets full briefing on national security issues, only members who sit on select committees do.
I have more confidence in someone who admits what she does not know than in a someone spouting off sonorous opinions without sufficient underlying knowledge.
People can learn.
Darline seems to be a quick study.
I do not recall such a fuss when Sara Palin bragged about her national security “expertise” with “I can see Russia from my house.” And Palin was then running for Vice-President.
