787s have a known issue when ground crews fail to lock out the gear properly (pins are set in wrong hole). British Airways had a similar incident 5 years ago. There is a published bulletin about the issue.

How about we actually see what caused this incident before reflexively commencing the self-flagellation upon our state? More minor aviation incidents are caused by human error rather than design or manufacturing error. So cool your jets already. Pun intended!
