The labor participation rate is the percentage of a state’s (or country’s) working age population that is either employed or actively searching for a job. It’s a critical – and often overlooked – data point in assessing true employment growth.
How is “labor participation” determined? Does S.C. have “sitting on your fat ass meters”?
Actually the numbers look pretty good. I researched this my self (web numbers of course) and came up with actual unemployment figures of around 20-25%.
My numbers include prisoners, jailbirds, retirees and the like. I posted my results on this site. Some article about Obonehead. I think it’s actually pretty close.
