Will Folks
FITSNews is an independent, unapologetic media outlet covering news and politics in South Carolina. Led by its charmingly irreverent founding editor, Will Folks, the site engages a vibrant, accountability-driven marketplace of ideas in the Palmetto State – a headline-grabbing political hotbed which plays a starring role in the nation’s quadrennial presidential elections.
With its edgy, unconventional mix of breaking news headlines, political analysis, local news stories, Gamecock and Clemson sports coverage, investigative reporting, and colorful, diverse commentary – FITSNews drives the debate in South Carolina (and beyond).
From its humble origins as a state government blog, FITSNews has gained national acclaim after breaking both the Murdaugh Murders crime and corruption saga and the Rockstar Cheer scandal – two major national news stories.
While featuring the fiscally conservative, socially libertarian views of its founding editor, FITSNews is devoted to hosting a conversation of competing ideas. In that role, we welcome all intelligent perspectives as part of a collective, community-based pursuit of truth, justice, fundamental fairness, and individual and institutional accountability as we cover the latest news headlines of the day.
Will Folks is the founding editor of FITSNews.com. Prior to that he served as press secretary to the governor of South Carolina. Before entering politics he played bass guitar in an alt-punk band and was a bouncer at a Columbia, S.C. bar. Will lives in the Midlands area of South Carolina with his wife and seven children.
