Stephen Garcia Is Back In Town, Everybody

Seriously, love the guy.

In fact, Garcia is probably our favorite quarterback in the 127-year history of the University of South Carolina program – not to mention one of the authors of its greatest triumph.

His 17 of 20 passing, 201-yard performance nine years ago against Alabama – including three touchdowns and some clutch completions on “the drive” – marked the high point of the program.

Having said that … watching people fall down is funny.

Even if the person falling down (or rather into a refrigerator full of beer) is Stephen Garcia …

Yeah …

Nice catch by the bartender, huh? Way to “come back and help his quarterback out.”

Garcia is (obviously) back in town as his former team takes on the No. 2 Crimson Tide at Williams-Brice stadium this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. EDT.

Some have Alabama on upset watch in this game … but not us. Without the likes of Garcia, Alshon Jeffery and Marcus Lattimore, we think the Tide rolls in its long-awaited return to Columbia, S.C.

Garcia finished his Gamecock career with a 20-14 record as a starter – including a 2-0 mark against arch-rival Clemson and a 2-1 mark against Georgia. He threw for 7,597 passing yards – one of only four quarterbacks in school history to reach the 7,500-yard threshold. Garcia also ranks fourth on USC’s career list in completions (589) and fifth in touchdown passes (47).

In addition to his aerial exploits, Garcia rushed for 777 yards and 15 touchdowns during this three-and-a-half seasons in Columbia.
