KIDS THESE DAYS …

In commenting on the rash of political correctness on college campuses, we recently noted how the spoiled, entitled punks running amok with government-guaranteed loans at publicly subsidized institutions were missing the mark when it comes to real “justice.”

Martin Luther King, Jr. and others risked their lives for the right to vote, etc.  To not get lynched,” we wrote.  “They did not launch a movement so that privileged brats could go from cradle to grave without anyone saying mean things about them or violating their ‘safe space.'”

Damn right …

About the “lynching” thing, though.  PC insanity took a quantum leap forward this week when students at Lebanon Valley College – a private, liberal arts school in Pennsylvania – demanded administrators rename a facility christened after former school president Clyde A. Lynch.

Why? Because the guy’s last name is the same as “lynch,” the term used for the extrajudicial execution of blacks during Jim Crow.

(Hold up … does this PC insanity also extend to the head of the U.S. Department of Justice?)

Anyway …

“This sort of epic stupidity is of course the logical outcome of college administrators consistently pandering to the inane demands of college cry bullies nationwide,” wrote Michael Krieger of the website Liberty Blitzkrieg. “No adults are holding these out of control child-fascists accountable for their despicable behavior.  As such, these tyrants-in-training are getting more out of control every day, and getting away with it. Thank you college administrators.”

We concur.  PC insanity has officially gone full retard …

This bashing of the younger generation is getting old. My child started college right before the Bush Depression. Even with a scholarship she stilled worked a job to pay for living expenses. Then after she graduated she had to work low paying jobs due to the lousy economy. She now has a great job in another state and is thriving.
Almost bringing down the banking system, wasting trillions on a lied about war which has furthered the increase in terrorism is not the fault of the younger generation. It is the older generation that created this mess.

You too are either a boomer or one of the Lucky Fews. And I’ll bet the Greatest generation complained about the younger ones too.

idcydm December 10, 2015 at 6:05 pm

They Young People have exalted notions, because they have not been humbled by life or learned its necessary limitations; moreover, their hopeful disposition makes them think
themselves equal to great things — and that means having exalted notions. They would always rather do noble deeds than useful ones: Their lives are regulated more by moral feeling than by reasoning — all their mistakes are in the direction of doing things excessively and vehemently. They overdo everything —
they love too much, hate too much, and the same with everything else. ~Aristotle

Fits us all, doesn’t it.

erneba December 10, 2015 at 6:12 pm

Aristotle must have raised a house full of self-righteous, self-centered, lamed-brained liberal pussies.
And they all probably went to Ivy League schools.
I bet Aristotle was flat broke after paying for their education.

idcydm December 10, 2015 at 6:16 pm

Are you saying there were no government grants or federally backed student loans? Wonder how everyone got educated before those started to happen?

erneba December 10, 2015 at 6:28 pm

There was absolutely no government aid. Aristotle had to push a hot dog cart through Athens, selling his hot weenies on a bun to get enough money to send his kids through school. One of his boys did get a basketball scholarship.

And I agree with that one hundred percent.
Wish I had as much respect for this young generation as I have had for past generations. If I did, you would not hear it from me.
It is nice that your kid went to school, landed a good job and is on the road to success.
Wish I could say that about all of them.

idcydm December 10, 2015 at 6:29 pm

I have a grandson graduating midterm as an electrical engineer. He interned for a company that said as soon as he graduated he would have a job. Many times it is the major pursued that gets them the job.

erneba December 10, 2015 at 6:34 pm

That’s a great point, pursuing a major that has a demand for its graduates is a sure winner. Majors like women’s studies or fourteenth century Danish literature may not get you a lot of offers.

You don’t say!?!? She had to WORK to pay living expenses ? The poor dear, how will she go on

boomers December 10, 2015 at 8:45 pm

Yes, she had to pay her rent, utilities, food, car insurance etc. while going to school fulltime. The point being not all of the kids coming up are slackers. Once she left for college, she’s been on her own since, not living with or sponging off her parents.

David Lynch movies are big on college movie nights (including the classic weird-fest “Blue Velvet”, on which I worked on extras casting when it was filmed in Wilmington, NC).

Since Lynch is an avowed libertarian, will all his flicks be banned, not to mention the immortal “Twin Peaks?”

Sometimes when I read about this stuff … sometimes …

“…entitled punks running amok with
government-guaranteed loans at publicly subsidized institutions were
missing the mark when it comes to real “justice.” ”

You mean like the entitled punks of Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University, 95% of whose students receive financial aid? That’s 81,000+ students who receive $800 Million per year in FEDERAL financial aid. In 2014, Liberty collected $724 million in revenue from those students, mostly distance learners.
$800 million is an assload in taxpayer subsidy for a public OR private institution.
Or, does it not count when it’s crony capitalism to a private school?

Reply
erneba December 10, 2015 at 6:00 pm

You seemed to have conveniently labelled “student loans” as student aid.
It is aid, in a sense, but the students owe the money back to the government.
The government is not simply giving them the money.
Also, if you check the list, there are many liberal schools on that list receiving “aid.”

Reply
nitrat December 10, 2015 at 9:29 pm

Read the fine print on the graphs. It’s grants, loans, work study and other aid. Not just the student loans listed in the title.

But, I guess since student loans are one of those middle class, income based entitlements – like welfare and food stamps – we don’t consider them a government benefit.

There are far more for-profit racket colleges than ‘liberal schools’. Since non-profit is a racket, too, I guess that’s where Liberty falls.

There are employees at USC who are feeling unwelcome and left out because university offices and departments are putting up things like garland and wreaths. These special snowflakes do not think a state institution should be celebrating religious holidays that may exclude some employees.

Fuck them, I can guarantee everyone of them exchanges gifts on December 25th.

MHP’s comments a month or so ago that no one should say Paul Ryan is a hard-worker — because only slaves deserve to be called “hard workers” was just one of the most idiotic things I’ve ever heard from a non-rightwing nutjob — or some other idiot at the bar also drinking too much and being stupid.

But MHP has a TV show — and a professorship!
