ESPN will broadcast SportsCenter from the University of South Carolina’s historic Horseshoe this coming Saturday, October 17.
The broadcast will air between 7:00-9:00 a.m. EDT, with the public invited to attend. Gamecock fans are encouraged to wear garnet and bring white “rally towels.”
Matt Barrie and Sara Walsh will anchor the broadcast, along with reporter Marty Smith, ESPN.com college football writer Chris Low and ESPN.com columnist Mark Schlabach. Previously this year, SportsCenter has visited Notre Dame, Michigan, Boston College, St. John’s (Minn.), Clemson and North Dakota State.
Later Saturday, South Carolina (2-4, 0-4 SEC) takes on Vanderbilt (2-3, 0-2 SEC) at Williams-Brice Stadium in a game that will be televised nationally by the SEC Network at 4:00 p.m. EDT.
It will be the Gamecocks first kickoff under interim head coach Shawn Elliott, who has been tapped to lead the team in the aftermath of this week’s surprise mid-season resignation of legendary head coach Steve Spurrier.

Why? Do they want to report live from to announce who will be this year’s cellar dweller for the SEC East?
Why not? I didn’t realize that one’s position–in relation to another–was a condition precedent to hosting an event, such as a broadcast.
You seem to imply that the broadcast location carries some other meaning beyond its mere location.
Is ESPN trying to alienate still more fans? It’s bad enough they cozy up to the SEC only to find the conference is imploding but to host game day at SCAR ahead of two losing bantam weight teams lightly tapping each others’ helmets to eek out a win seems ridiculous.
