Mica Miller Saga, Satanic Cannibal, Badges Gone Bad – Week In Review 3/22/2025

News and notes…

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

We tracked three major developments this week in the ongoing saga of Mica Francis Miller – the late South Carolina worship leader and aspiring missionary whose death last spring continues to stoke all manner of scrutiny and suspicion.

The late wife of embattled Palmetto State pastor John-Paul Miller, Mica Miller died in a wooded area in the Lumber River State Park in southeastern North Carolina on April 27, 2024 – news of which was first reported by FITSNews. Police and medical officials contend she committed suicide via a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Last Friday (March 14, 2025), a key witness in the case died in a violent vehicular collision – which has since resulted in charges being filed. Johnnie Jacobs, 55, of Lumberton, N.C. was at the park that afternoon. The man known as “the fisherman” heard Mica Miller’s cries – and the gunshot police say killed her. He also saw several other people in the area around the time of her death.

Our Callie Lyons has been on top of Jacobs’ death and the uproar it has caused…

In other Mica Miller-related news, police in Myrtle Beach, S.C. have reportedly reopened an investigation into a suspicious 2021 death related to this saga. Chris Skinner, 41, died on July 6, 2021 when his motorized wheelchair went into a community pool in his neighborhood.

Originally classified as an accident, police are now reportedly probing whether Skinner deliberately drove his chair into the pool – or if perhaps something more nefarious happened.

The quadriplegic motivational speaker and author was married to Suzie Skinner, who according to court filings was involved in a relationship with John-Paul Miller. In fact, Chris Skinner allegedly confronted the pastor – who would later deliver the sermon at his funeral – about their relationship in the days leading up to his death, according to an affidavit (.pdf) from Miller’s first wife.

Our Jenn Wood is continuing to track this part of the story…

Also, John-Paul Miller’s bid to maintain control of the narrative regarding his late wife’s death continued with his filing of a countersuit this week against one of the two women currently suing him for sexual assault. FITSNews will be closely following developments in those civil cases – as well as the ongoing federal criminal probe of Miller.

In other news, it was a huge week for our Andy Fancher on the ‘Badge Gone Bad‘ front. Andy continues to be a one-man wrecking crew when it comes to holding corrupt cops accountable for their actions. In addition to detailing the latest “bad apples” in what increasingly seems to be a tainted orchard, he spoke on the show about the importance of institutional accountability – and of the dangers associated with blindly assuming all law enforcement officers are on the side of right.

As always, our sincere thanks to everyone who watched this week’s program. Please remember, your support drives everything we do at FITSNews. If you value independent, unapologetic coverage like this – please help us out by subscribing today!

I can’t wait for the Chuck Wright segment of badges gone bad. You are going to need a full episode on that one.
