KATHLEEN KANE DEFIANT AGAINST CHARGES …

|| By FITSNEWS || Pennsylvania attorney general Kathleen Kane was indicted this week on charges she leaked protected grand jury information to the media – and engaged in a coverup to hide her actions.

Kane was charged with perjury, conspiracy and obstructing justice, official oppression and false swearing related to the scandal.

“Kane orchestrated the leak to the media through a political operative for the purpose of retaliating against former state prosecutors whom she believed had embarrassed her in the press,” prosecutors said, adding Kane allegedly  “undertook these actions seeking vengeance and retribution against other law enforcement professionals.”

Specifically, Kane is accused of leaking information (through an operative) to the The Philadelphia Daily News related to a 2009 case – and then lying about it under oath.  Prosecutors say she did this “in hopes of embarrassing and harming former state prosecutors she believed, without evidence, made her look bad.”

Pennsylvania’s governor Tom Wolf called on the 49-year-old to resign her office.

“I am calling on her to step aside, step down as attorney general, because I think she cannot do what she has to do as the top law enforcement officer in Pennsylvania while she’s facing these serious charges,” Wolf said.

Kane – who relied on her trucking magnate husband’s fortune to win office in 2012 – refused to step down.

“A resignation would be an admission of guilt,” she said. “I’m not guilty.”

Not only that, the leggy, long-haired prosecutor said she would successfully fight the charges against her – and win reelection in 2016.

Whoa …

Kane and Wolf are Democrats, to the extent that matters anymore these days.

Politics corrupts everything. Political appointments extend this corruption further and longer to all areas of our daily life. Time to look at political appointments and fix it. Let skillful professionals be promoted to these positions based solely on merit.

You did hear that the Republican Attorney General of Texas was indicted too recently?

That is the way it works at the Federal level. The President can fire the AG. It’s more accountable. It creates voter fatigue to have to keep track of so many statewide offices.

“It creates voter fatigue to have to keep track of so many statewide offices.”

(thinks most voters track more than 1 office in general)

Scant mention she's a Democrat August 7, 2015 at 11:14 am

I pursued the first 4 or 5 paragraphs and saw no mention of party affiliation, so my VERY EDUCATED guess is that this criminal is a Democrat.

FITSNews is VERY Predictable. It never meets a Republican it does not hATE (unless it’s a paying Republica.) And it LIKES, Democrats, and runs cover for all of their corruption.

Such a trite, dishonest, pieces of shit, you are.

Actually, FITS didn’t even cover the Republican Attorney General of Texas being indicted. So there goes your theory.

Republicans Never Do Wrong August 7, 2015 at 11:53 am

In GrandTango’s mind Republicans are never corrupt and never do anything bad. It’s kind of like how in Jurassic Park, if you don’t move they can’t see you? For GrandTango if it looks factual or intelligent, he can’t see it.

And there’s the difference between Dems and Reps: Dem AG in PA indicted, Dem PA governor Wolf calls on her to resign. Rep AG is TX indicted for multiple felonies, Rep TX governor Abbott says nothing. So much for the rule of law under Republicans.

GrandTango can’t even spell proxy, let alone figure out how to use one.

Who said he was actually banned? Flip? That guy’s just a troll.

You know, you bring up a good point. I think it was flipster that claimed Tango was banned when he disappeared for a while.

I just figured since so many people were begging Will to do it, he finally caved.

Perhaps you should try reading the whole article? I know big words like “orchestrated” and “enforcement” are hard on the brain of a five year old but if you put a lot of effort into it you might be able to finish the whole thing.

She’s looking a little rough around the edges, but I’d still take her to Pound Town. I’d rather than taken her 10 years ago, but beggars can’t be choosers.

I’ve always found PA to be a very odd state. Something about the combination of Amish, coal, rattlesnakes, steel, the idea Billy Joel had a song about a rust bucket town, coal fires. Whole place is sort of odd.

True. Even so, I have to say that most of the people I have met or known from PA were among the nicest folks I have ever known.

I wonder if FITS will cover this story:

Michigan state Rep. Todd Courser (R) “planned the distribution of a fictional email alleging he had sex with a male prostitute in a bid to conceal his relationship with Rep. Cindy Gamrat (R),” according to audio recordings obtained by The Detroit News.

“Courser said on one recording the email was designed to create ‘a complete smear campaign’ of exaggerated, false claims about him and Gamrat so a public revelation about the legislators’ relationship would seem ‘mild by comparison.’”

“The pair are socially conservative legislators who often invoke their Christian faith in pursuit of new legislation governing gun rights, abortion and marriage.”

Why would this even be a story? That is between their families. They are both consenting adults who have to deal with the consequences of their actions. It doesn’t affect their jobs.

Critics who claim there is nothing here, miss the point that this is an allegation of the abuse of power. It goes to the core of her doing her job.

I don’t think she should resign nor was it appropriate to call for her to do so. It is an allegation not proven fact unless Wolf has something he would like to share with us. I do think that she should take a leave of absence and fight this because she no longer has the confidence of the people or law enforcement. She needs to clear her name if she is innocent or resign if she is not.
