“POLITICIANS LIKE JOHN McCAIN HAVE TOTALLY FAILED”

|| By DONALD TRUMP || During my entire business career, I have always made supporting Veterans a top priority because our heroes deserve the very best for defending our freedom.

My record of Veteran support is well-documented. I served as co-chairman of the New York Vietnam Veterans Memorial Commission and was responsible, with a small group, for getting it built. Toward this end, I contributed over $1 million so our warriors can be honored in New York City with a proper memorial.

I have always made sure our Veterans are treated with the respect they deserve. In 1995, the fiftieth anniversary of World War II, only 100 spectators watched New York City’s Veteran’s Day Parade. It was an insult to all veterans. I was approached by Mayor Rudy Giuliani and the chief of New York City’s FBI office. They asked me to lead as Grand Marshall for a second parade later that year. It was an honor. I immediately made a $1 million dollar matching donation to finance the Nation’s Day Parade. It was a tremendous success. On Saturday, November 11th, over 1.4 million individuals watched as 25,000 veterans, some dressed in their vintage uniforms, marched down Fifth Avenue. It was one of the biggest parades in the history of New York City and I was very proud to have made it possible.

One reason, among the many, that we need new leadership is that the politicians have failed our Veterans. Our VA hospitals are outdated dumps. The current medical assistance to our Veterans is a disaster. If I am elected President, I will build the finest and most modern Veterans hospitals in the world. A Trump administration will provide premium universal access healthcare for our Veterans. They will be able to get the best care anytime and anywhere.

The ongoing scandal of the horrible things happening to our Veterans is a total disgrace. Thousands of lives have been taken by the incompetence and corruption going on in Veterans hospitals. Likewise, Veterans are living in misery and are treated as third class citizens.

Two weeks ago, I pointed out the problem of illegal immigrants crossing our border and causing tremendous amounts of crime. Now, I have been able to focus the energies of our country on the horrible treatment that our Veterans are receiving. We must solve their difficulties – and solve them now. Politicians like John McCain have totally failed.

Last week in Phoenix, I held a record breaking rally with thousands of people. They are devastated by what is happening with illegal immigration. This group was totally united – the silent majority became alive. These were fabulous people and great Americans but John McCain called them “crazies.” Everyone was very insulted by his disgusting and unfair characterization. A nation without borders is not a nation at all but John McCain has not been able to figure that out.

Our leaders have failed to honor our country’s sacred duty to care for our veterans. This has to stop but it will not stop if we continue to depend on politicians who are controlled by the donors, lobbyists and special interests. Politicians are all talk and no action.

I will continue to fight to secure our border and take care of our Veterans. I will never apologize or back down because these steps are vital to Make America Great Again!

Donald Trump is chairman and president of the Trump Organization and a candidate for the GOP presidential nomination in 2016.

I read somewhere this morning that McCain said “I’m no hero”. YOU GOT THAT SHIT RIGHT ! Trump is telling the truth and letting the chips fall where they may. The US needs a lot more of that and a lot less of the establishment BS we are fed every day.

Exactly. Anyone that researches McCain’s record will realize that he never acted heroically. His career prior to being taken prisoner was less than stellar and his promotions seem to be due to his father. No one would speak out against the son and grandson of an Admiral. When he was taken prisoner he made sure that they knew who he was. There are varying accounts of whether or not he provided information to the enemy. I respect him for his service. I would not want to be held for 5 1/2 years even if I was “getting taken care of.” I respect him for that. But, His actions with the Keating 5, his coalitions to work against the republican majority and will of the people, and his continual votes against veterans issues are horrible.

Slow down on Ol’G.H.W. Bush – here’s a short version of his pre-presidential history: Bush 41 was a lot more interesting before he entered politics.

Bush was born into a wealthy family in Massachusetts but shortly after his birth, the family moved to Connecticut. Not unexpectedly, he attended some prestigious private schools but what you probably didn’t know was that he was the captain of both the varsity baseball and soccer teams at Phillips Academy in addition to holding the expected elected positions like president of the student body.

Bush graduated from Phillips Academy in 1942 and in deference to the war going on, joined the Navy. There is some question as to exactly how old his recruiter thought the young Bush was but the fact is that after he completed a 10 month OCS and flight training school he was commissioned into the US Naval Reserve and placed on active duty at age 18 years 361 days, making him the youngest officer in the Navy at that point.

Bush would be assigned to Carrier Air Group VT 51 (V has something to do with Airplanes in the Navy and the T is for Torpedoes) as the photo officer (he was responsible for planning photo reconnaissance missions, not taking snap shots). He was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade in 1943 (what the Army calls First Lieutenant) and began flying the Grumman TBM Avenger as the Pilot in Command.

On 2 September 1944, while conducting a raid on Chichijima, Bush’s Avenger was hit by antiaircraft fire. Despite the aircraft being on fire, Bush flew away from Chichijima for several minutes hoping to avoid capture by the Japanese. The Navy would station “lifeguard submarines” a couple of miles off the islands they were attacking for just such eventualities. Bush was able to safely bail out along with either Radioman John Delaney or Lt(JG) William White – neither White nor Delaney were ever heard from again. The design of the Avenger made it extremely difficult to bail out of.

After floating around in the ocean for 4 hours, the USS Finback (the “lifeguard sub” that day) rescued him and returned him to VT 51. In all, he would fly 58 missions in the TBM with VT 51. When his unit was rotated to the States, he was assigned as an instructor in a training wing because of his experience. After his stint in the training unit, he was assigned to VT-153, in Michigan to prepare to deploy back to the war zone. Like almost every other junior officer in the USNR, Bush was honorably discharged in September shortly after the Japanese surrendered.

So what’s a rich kid, war hero to do? (I forgot to mention that Bush earned a DFC and 3 Air Medals) Well in Bush’s case, he married Ms. Barbara Pierce 6 weeks to the day after returning home and then he called Yale and asked if his acceptance was still good (he had been accepted to Yale before he graduated from Phillips). Based on his performance at Phillips he was placed in an accelerated program and was able to graduate in two and a half years but the rest of the story blew my mind. In addition to rushing DKE and ultimately becoming the chapter president, being selected for induction into the “evil, world controlling,” Skull and Bones and graduating early, Bush played 1st base and captained the Yale Baseball team, leading them to back to back College World Series appearances (Yale was the runner up both years, being beaten by California in 47 and USC(West) in 48.

Oh, he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in economics.

After graduating Bush decided to strike out on his own and headed to Texas against Prescott Bush’s wishes. He started out as a sales clerk at an oil drilling supply firm. But after 3 years of that and, he quit and started Bush-Overby Oil Development Company. Three years later he would co-found Zapata Petroleum Corporation. His focus was primarily the Permian Basin of Texas but Zapata would spin off Zapata Offshore and Bush was named president in 1954. By 1966, Bush was a multimillionaire and despite the assertions of some, he made most of it the hard way, he earned it.

By ’66 Bush began leaning towards politics, he’d be elected to the house from Texas’ 7th district in 1967. Nixon asked Bush to run for senate in 1970 to rid himself of a critic named Ralph Yarborough – Bush ran and was beat by Lloyd Bentsen (who had beat Yarborough in the primaries)(Bush would get even in 1988 when he and Dan Quayle soundly beat Dukakis-Bentsen for the Presidency). Nixon made Bush the US Ambassador to the UN in appreciation for his efforts, he was later the National Chair of the Republican Party, US Envoy to China, Director of the CIA (one of the better ones we ever had), he taught for a while and then went to work for a guy named Ronald Reagan and the rest as they say, is history.

His captivity was definitely the only hardship in his life. He went straight from daddy’s arms to Jim Hensley’s. The man literally has never had to worry a day in his life. You would think his experience would have shaped him politically in great favor towards Vets but nothing could be further from true. McCain is why I sat at home in November 2008,. I couldn’t pinch my nose that hard to pull the lever for him.

You harp on Viet Nam? The democrats haven’t had a veteran elected President since Carter and he served in peace time. That would make Kennedy your last battle tested president. Clinton was a deserter that was pardoned by Carter. Obama said he thought about joining the military but decided not to. Trump and Clinton both reported when required. Trump was medically disqualified by a military doctor, not Trump’s fault. Clinton took the oath and then failed to report back as ordered. He was a deserter. He remained so until pardoned by Carter.

Reply
RogueElephant July 20, 2015 at 12:22 pm

What did Trump have wrong with him that disqualified him from service ? I haven’t seen anything but keep hearing ?

Speak D Truth July 20, 2015 at 12:26 pm

It was a bone spur in his foot. Also note that Clinton passed his first military physical and then failed his next two. One for vision and one for hearing.

Rocky July 20, 2015 at 12:37 pm

Another lie. No, he was not deferred from the draft after returning from Oxford, enrolled like everyone else (who didn’t have a real estate tycoon Daddy) and was not drafted. His deferment was given to him based on his intent to enter the Arkansas National Guard, but since they had yet to be trained beyond flint-lock rifles, and most couldn’t read, it was unlikely any Arkansas National Guard units would serve in combat.

Speak D Truth July 20, 2015 at 12:55 pm

He got s deferment for enrolling in ROTC and taking his initial oath. He failed to report. Later, he received a deferment because he was classified as having already joined by virtue of his fraudulent enlistment when he enrolled in ROTC. He used an enormous amount of favors and political influence to avoid serving. While the liberal “snopes” denies his desertion, it does detail his deceitful actions.
The bone spur was documented in his medial records. There is nothing to support your slanderous comment that anyone bought his way out of serving. The same cannot be said for Clinton. Obama was post draft and thought about serving but decided not to.

Rocky July 20, 2015 at 1:05 pm

And your point? I assume you’re taking back your slanderous comment that Clinton was pardoned as a deserter? Probably not.

Rocky July 20, 2015 at 2:21 pm

I thought you said Clinton got deferments for vision and hearing? Why you change story?

Speak D Truth July 20, 2015 at 2:37 pm

He did get deferments for education. Then after those deferments when his number was drawn he signed an ROTC Contract which he did not honor after taking his initial enlistment oath. He then fled to Oxford and failed to answer another draft notice. He wiggles out of that and tried to get another deferment. That is when he failed the other 2 physicals. One for vision and one for hearing.

Tazmaniac July 20, 2015 at 3:38 pm

Huh? What did you say? LOL

Rocky July 20, 2015 at 12:32 pm

Clinton was not a deserter pardoned by Carter. For that to have been the case Clinton would have had to go to Canada. That is a false lie you put forth. Clinton received a deferment (like Trump) u while attending Graduate School in Oxford England. When he returned in 1969 he sought admission into the National Guard, but then decided against it, making himself eligible for the draft. He pulled number 310 in the lottery ensuring he likely would not be drafted, and attended Yale Law School. He was later President of the United States, and is considered by many Americans to be one of the ten best Presidents. So you speak not D Truth.

Rocky July 20, 2015 at 12:51 pm

Yeah, let’s compare those records. Clinton – greatest economic growth in a generation, end to conflict in Bosnia, select attacks on Iraq (one following an attempt to Saddam to kill GHW Bush), Obama orders the attack that kills Osama Bil Laden. Now let’s compare that to Texas Air Guard Ranger and his Deferment Loving VP – Iraq. Need we say more. And let’s not forget the combat unit that Reagan served in.

Speak D Truth July 20, 2015 at 1:14 pm

Clinton built the economy by ordering banks to give people housing loans that they could not afford. Those people lost everything when they couldn’t pay their bills and the housing market and the economy crashed. Pulling out of a war does not end it. We had numerous attacks on Americans by Muslim terrorists, to include the first WTC bombings and he did nothing. He had Bin Laden in his sights and wouldn’t act. He showed a lack of resolve that emboldened them. His weak immigration policies allowed the 9/11 terrorists to enter this country. His lapses in National Security allowed them to train, plan, and prepare. His select attacks on Iraq blew up a pill factory.
Bush took office and within months the sleeper cell that came here under Clinton awakened and acted. Bush reacted quickly. We identified the threat, attacked the threat, and forced then enemy to fight on their turf. International Intelligence showed that Sadam was supporting the enemy with money and intelligence. It also indicated that he had WMD. Republicans, Democrats, and Foreign Governments agreed that Sadam posed a threat. We went to war and toppled his regime. Some WMD were found. This is a war that should have been finished in Desert Storm. he strengthened our immigration policies and procedures. No more attacks occurred on US Soil.
The military did locate Bin Laden while Obama was President. he did allow the operation to kill him. He sat in DC and watched it on TV. He played it for all of the political mileage that he and Hillary could get. He has weakened immigration standards. His FBI, Secret Service, and Intelligence Communities have become a joke. We have had at least 3 terrorist attacks on our soil since he was elected. Polls show that most Americans feel that we are less safe under Obama than we were under Bush.

Rocky July 20, 2015 at 2:20 pm

You were finished when you started with the CRA loans. In the financial collapse of 2008 CRA loans (those you say Clinton forced banks to make) outperformed private mortgages made by Thrifts and Wall Street by a huge margin. In some instances, those toxic private mortgage polls suffered 50% default rates, and those were not the CRA loans you speak of. At the height CRA loans had default rates around 9%, same as VA loans. Sorry – Capital Markets is my business – I know of what I tell you.

They started off shouting he needed to say “I’m sorry” and the crazy angry white base of the GOP rallied around – Trump!!! The Koch brothers, through Daniel Brennan and the Concerned Veterans of America, are moving against Trump.

Brennan, an openly gay man that is the field director for SC, is thee point man. He has no military service so he can easily go after Trump. And since he is gay, Trump can’t go after him.

Brennan tweeted against Trump over the weekend. I have been told he is forming a gay, lesbian transgendered coalition to formerly denounce Trump, but I have not seen that yet.

As a conservative I find this repugnant. How can the Kochs hire an openly gay man that was at the forefront of pulling the flag down, and for gay marriage, to be the head of a veterans group. That is messed up.

That he did not have military service just makes the whole thing a farce.

Donald Trump would know about “total failures”:

Trump Airlines
Trump Vodka
3-4 Bankruptcies
His 2 previous marriages
Trump Mortgage
Trump: The Board Game
His hair

Who is the better choice at this point. Not only in their ideas and experience but also in the electability?

Best I’ve seen is Walker – he has a long ways to go to win but he has actually been elected to a real leadership position and done exactly what he said he would do.

I’m just not sure he can win the election. I could see him as a VP but I’m not sure he can win at the top of the ticket.
