Will people just let this episode of confused gender assignment go and get back to higher taxes, corrupt politicians, under-performing schools, and other general nonsense. This gender modification has happened many times before, will happen many more times in the future. Jenner gets all the publicity because he was a famous male athlete, had a TV show(which I never watched), and is a member of a highly dysfunctional family.
I am sure there are many males in this country who have undergone the same procedure and are allowed to lead their lives without all the hoopla.

Wow, I have personally known several transgenders in my personal life, and trust me, they would love to fear breast cancer, and they would gladly take the ovarian cyst if it meant it would make them a woman. Until you know what it’s like to feel like you are trapped inside the wrong body and you have the fear of public shaming and rejection not only from all of society but especially from your family if you attempted the slightest change towards the real you, then maybe you shouldn’t rant about something you do not understand. There are way too many people passing judgement on this who have never been exposed to anyone in their personal life who have been through these trials. Perhaps if you have sat through support group meeting for a few years like I have, and listen to their stories with open eyes and an open heart, your perspective would be differant. My 2 cents

I disagree that is the only acceptable outcome, but I do think he might find it hard to live with his decision and that be a possible outcome. I cannot begin to fathom why someone might do that to themselves. I don’t like looking at the pictures, because what I feel is pity for him. I think he will be filled with regret. It’s his life to live, but the rest of us are not required to embrace or associate. I do hope he has a strong network of family friends, because the world is going to swallow him. I think it already has.

I’m the mother of a funny, smart, kind preadolescent child who has suffered from gender dysphoria for the last 3 years. I don’t know what caused it, and I don’t know what’s going to happen. I take her to the best doctors I can get. We are southern fundamentalist Christians who go to church regularly and talk about God throughout our week. My child needs constant reassurance that I still love her and that I will stand by her and that she’s not going to hell. I reassure her. She also has a lot of questions that frankly I don’t know the answers to. I do the best I can.
My biggest fear about her future is that maybe it’s going to be filled with a lifetime of comments like the one above, from people calling her it and encouraging her to kill herself and maybe attempting to do it for her. I’m scared enough to cry about it pretty frequently.
I think my question for you is, how does it feel to be someone else’s nightmare? You good with it?
