“WINSTON’S WISH” IS TO DANCE WITH SOUTH CAROLINA GOVERNOR
|| By FITSNEWS || We’re obviously not big fans of S.C. governor Nikki Haley around here … but we can appreciate those who are.
And we can certainly appreciate young Winston – whose “Winston’s Wish” foundation is inviting the governor to participate in its annual spring/ summer (“Sprummer”) concert event next week.
“We will dance together – and eat yummy food together,” Winston tells the governor in a video greeting posted to his foundation’s Facebook page.
Sounds like a good deal …
Winston’s Wish is “a statewide non-profit foundation created to support children with autism and their families who reside in South Carolina.”
The foundation will hold its eighth annual “Sprummer Concert” on Thursday, May 2, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. EDT on the roof of the Carolina Walk in downtown Columbia, S.C. – just across the street from Williams Brice Stadium.
Performing live? The Gin Blossoms (no really, The Gin Blossoms).

Because Cecil Corbett — SC’s version of Bill Graham, and the major concert booker/promoter in the Southeast back in the day — who, through his Beach Club Promotions company even brought the Rolling Stones to the 1000-seat MB Convention Center at the height of their popularity — has been dead for many,many years now.
Alternative answer: We are somewhat less than even a tertiary market for Live Nation and other major promoters, nationally.
Bonus alternative answer: Boycott over that flag. (this point, unlike the others, is actually debateable)

Hey, that’s happened a lot. It’s weird when it does. Half the time, I don’t remember ever having said that. In many cases, my position has changed, at any rate. As the delightful and insightful SYNTwist says, I am extremely consistent. Meaning consistent on being anti-corruption, anti-collectivist, anti-communist, anti-cronyism, and pro- civil liberties. But I’m also consistently adaptable and open to seeing things in a new light.

People who attend this event are the movers and shakers in downtown Columbia. Winston comes from one of the most wealthy and influential families in the state. Don’t get me wrong they are also humble, kind, generous and altruistic. Winston’s family has done amazing work in raising money and awareness for Autism. This is an opportunity for Governor Haley to mingle with potential donors.
I’d like to dance with her too, but her security detail “asked” me to stop calling…
