Dear Editor,
Have you noticed every time the republicans take aim at the Democrats with a Obamacare horror story, it turns out the horror story is false?
Just saw the new attack ad from S.C. Governor Nikki Haley. I looked up the woman in the ad on LinkedIn :
http://www.linkedin.com/pub/
And her husband:
http://www.linkedin.com/pub/
Notice that they moved to Easley, S.C. in October 2012 when he took a new job .
She says “last year” their costs were up 30 percent. So they change job/employer and move to a different state and blame the “cost” increase on Obamacare??
When you switch jobs, your insurance changes.
Is it dishonesty or incompetence?

Hold up … people still go to LinkedIn?
Seriously, though … expecting honesty in a political ad from Nikki Haley is like expecting soft kisses from a brood of pit vipers.

Will, aren’t you glad you didn’t let her leave her husband for you?
Course, he probably wishes she had.
Eww. Will as First Dude?!
but – but – but —-Will would have put Zach out of a job!
Well, well. You gonna believe a used car salesman about his insurance costs? And wifey probably was the insurance provider, enjoying some cushy benefits package from the Virginia university system. But hey, gotta blame somebody.
Is there anyone who can point me to an anti-Obamacare ad that has not been debunked?
If you like your insurance plan you can keep it.
Mine didn’t offer certain things like abortions, birth control, etc. (I am a single guy with no kids) so it was deemed non compliant. I now pay 214% more than I did. I have the bills to prove it. New policy doesn’t have my old doctor (of 15 years) on the plan, double the deductible, double to co-pay and is just all around less coverage. Thanks though for your concern.
Sorry, but you had multiple policies (probably around six) to choose from. You could have done your due diligence and bought one including your primary care physician but you were lazy. The ACA caps out-of-pockets so I call BS on your other claims.
Sure he cold have, but the cost would of been even higher. Even Obama’s people have said that. You look into the insurance options and you will quickly find out that most are crap insurance if you ever really need it. You can only go to a few Docs and Hospitals for the “affordable” plans. If you want to keep your doc and you make any kind of money (85k plus) you are screwed. So the young people and rich are getting bent over again to protect the old and poor.
BTW, when I say rich and young are being screwed again, look at Medicare taxes and social security taxes. If you think that will be around when you retire, think again. Average retiree life expectancy has gone from 71 in 1980 to 85 in 2011. The system can not support it.
We didn’t have a choice, our company insurance was forced, by 0bamaCare, to cover a whole slew of things, many of which were/are not used by the majority of people working here. Our share of the premiums went up, company share of premiums went up, deductible doubled, no co-pay, now prescriptions are part of deductible (before prescriptions were a low co-pay). I am surprised and glad the company continues to insure us even at the higher costs. I am very worried though that next year or the year after the company will be forced to drop us and send us to the 0bamaCare exchanges. A company exists for one reason, to make profits for the owner(s). When government regulations begin to infringe on profits the company has to find ways to increase revenues and/or cut costs, in the present economy raising prices (especially for us) is not an option. Hopefully they won’t shut down and put their money in a different investment.
Note that I did not ask for individuals who may pay more under ACA than they did before. No one denies that such cases exist.
What I did ask for was an example of a political anti-Obamacare ad on the TV machine that did not end up being bogus.
Sgt. Friday: “Bunco Squad!”
“soft kisses from a brood of pit vipers”
Is this from Chapter 5 in Will’s forthcumming book?
Was Haley’s ad as “dishonest” as 0bama’s dishonesty in forcing this bullshit on the American people, who didn’t want it to begin with?
“If you like your plan, you can keep your plan.” Lie
“If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.” Lie
“Premiums will come down $2,500 per family.” Lie
“I will not raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000?” Lie
PolitiFact’s Lie of the Year: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2013/dec/12/lie-year-if-you-like-your-health-care-plan-keep-it/
And yet, we have lemmings here still eating it all up.
Have you noticed that many of those who hate the ACA will swallow whatever health care their employers sticks in their throat.
Refuse your company policy and demand your company contribution. Let me know how that works out.
I pay for my family’s coverage. Make too much to receive any cuts. Will pay over $1200 less in the next year for a better policy. Shop carefully.
So keeping your doctor is important to you. Is it important to your doctor to keep you as a patient? No…
