DEMOCRAT ASSAILS RGA FOR “STUNNING HYPOCRISY”
State Sen. Vincent Sheheen (D-Camden) – South Carolina’s presumptive 2014 Democratic gubernatorial nominee – is firing back at a television ad the Republican Governors Association (RGA) is running against him in the Palmetto State.
The ad – which we wrote about HERE – blasts Sheheen for supporting the expansion of Medicaid under U.S. President Barack Obama’s socialized medicine law. According to Sheheen’s campaign, though, New Jersey Governor (and RGA leader) Chris Christie adopted precisely the same position.
Which is … true.
In fact Sheheen has started an online petition in which South Carolinians are encouraged to “tell Chris Christie to keep his dirty politics in New Jersey,” an obvious reference to the scandals that have consumed Christie and potentially crippled his 2016 presidential ambitions.

“Chris Christie’s RGA has a new ad attacking Vincent Sheheen for wanting to keep South Carolina’s federal Medicaid tax dollars working to help South Carolinians,” Sheheen’s camp noted. “The problem? Chris Christie himself took Medicaid money for his state his state. So we made a few minor modifications to their ad to highlight their hypocrisy.”
Christie isn’t alone …
Seven “Republican” governors – Jan Brewer (Arizona), Terry Branstad (Iowa), Rick Snyder (Michigan), Brian Sandoval (Nevada), Susana Martinez (New Mexico), Jack Dalrymple (North Dakota) and John Kasich (Ohio) – have taken the money.
S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley has refused to expand Medicaid under Obamacare, but as this website has exclusively reported her administration has ballooned enrollment on its own. In fact South Carolina’s 16 percent Medicaid growth rate for the coming fiscal year is larger than the 12 percent average increase in states which approved Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion.
States which aren’t approving the Obamacare expansion are averaging five percent growth in their Medicaid populations.
Ordinarily we’d score this exchange as a victory for the Democrats, except for two things: 1) The ad attacking Sheheen has $200,000 in television time behind it, and 2) South Carolinians are (by and large) an impressionable, intellectually incurious lot who tend to believe what they see on their televisions.

RINO Gov’s Association might fit Christie, but it’s not the sort that has adequate spine to have offered up the RGA’s debridement of Vinny’s shortcomings.
Hell, at least this time he is fighting back. Last time he just stood there and took it. But only way this helps is if the national media asks Christy about it and the RGA rethinks how to help.

During the last Governor’s election, Joel Lourie’s brother sat in the Chickfila on Decker Blvd bragging about how Sheheen was “all in” when it comes to Obamacare….that was enough for me….No on Sheheen.

Seeing how my family’s income depends on the health insurance industry and hearing this from somebody in the the Sheheen campaign, yes that was a serious decision.
Richland840 – Vinny didn’t have a vote – nor make a vote on the ACA – which by the way means more total private health insurance policies in the US – and despite creating many compliance issue concerns for treatment providers, has actually bolstered quite a number of inurers profits. So a law was passed that required people to have health insurance – that this candidate did not have any opportunity to vote for – and because your family is in the healthcare insurance business, it was enough for you that one of his surrogates said he was “all in” to know you were ‘against him’ still not clear to me?
all states that did not adopt obamacare/expanded medicaid are the ones where the workers like my husband have a 30% or more- increase in the insurance they buy from their employers. I am pro- obamacare- pro expanded medicaid BUT i think the Dems need to expose nikki haley as the culprit- she is the one who would not take what the federal government was giving.
By the way, the states that DO have obamacare? do not have the increases to insurance that employees buy for employers, nor did they have a problem using the federal website. WHY? because they could use their State’s website! nikki haley is the nothing but a corrupt Koch Brother’s puppet.
