Dear Friends,
We can all get a little consumed with our daily lives and forget how much God has blessed each of us. For me, this year has been filled with challenges, but also filled with more for which I am truly thankful. I am most thankful for God’s grace and mercy in my life. In addition, my loving family is healthy and happy, and we continue to find ways to contribute through our work and community activities. These are no small gifts; these are all things for which we should remain constantly grateful.
As I prepare to spend Thanksgiving with family, I won’t have to look but across the table to see reminders of the sacrifices our servicemen and women make and the many holidays they spend apart from their families. Thank you to all of those serving as well as to their families!
Work, politics, and all the other challenges of the daily grind can sometimes distract us from the important things. I think Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to gain some perspective about why we are so passionate about our faith, our country, and its future.
As we gather around the table for Thanksgiving, I hope we all take a deep breath, even if it’s only for a few minutes, and reflect on all those things for which to be grateful.
