S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley scored a major national coup this week – a glowing 1,500-word feature in USA Today about how she’s managing her husband Michael’s deployment to Afghanistan as an agribusiness consultant.
The article – written by “reporter” Susan Page – might as well have been a commercial for Haley’s reelection bid, people.
“Nikki Randhawa Haley has been a groundbreaker,” Page writes. “She is the first female governor of South Carolina and, as an Indian American, the state’s first minority governor, elected in 2010 after a hard-fought campaign. When her husband, Michael Haley, was deployed to Afghanistan with his South Carolina National Guard unit, she also became the first sitting U.S. governor to have a spouse deployed to a combat zone by the National Guard.”
The rest of the story features excerpts from Haley’s “remarkably candid” interview with Page (and yes, you might want to consider grabbing your hankie).
“It actually hurt me terribly, because to see him go away — I realized how much I had missed him,” Haley said of her husband’s deployment. “I realized how lonely I had been and realized how much a part of life he really was. That’s when it got really hard. … I just realized how easier life was when he was there and how empty it is when he’s not.”
That’s when it got really hard???

Personally, I think she should become president at Clemson.

Nikki Haley: $106,078/yr.
She deserves no more than what her daughter made working the gift shop, if that.
Actually, that above number for Barker is very low. There is a significant amount chipped in from the foundation, and he also gets rather nice perks for sitting on various boards. It’s no wonder it took major heart surgery to get him out of office.
Give me a damn break. She doesn’t miss the First Loser and wishes he would stay over there as long as possible. She is only interested in whatever the next step is to enrich herself.
And please don’t post on here about how you voted for her the first time but regret it. If you didn’t know she was a grifting crook last time around, you really don’t deserve to have a vote.
