#Obamacare Fail: Finger Pointing

So the federal government can create a spy network capable of warrantlessly intercepting millions of confidential communications (which it’s storing here) … but it can’t run a website to sign people up for government-run health insurance exchanges?

Apparently …

Four government contractors sat before a U.S. House Energy and Commerce committee hearing in Washington, D.C. this week to answer questions from grandstanding Republicans eager to discuss something other than their latest unconditional surrender to the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama.

Their goal? Scoring political points against Obama’s socialized medicine program – which they refused to unite against during the recent debate over the so-called “government shutdown” (and before the so-called “shutdown,” actually).

But hey … it’s okay for “Republicans” to hate Obamacare again now that they don’t have to worry about actually stopping it.

Anyway …

What’s the deal with the broken Obamacare website?

Nobody knows … and everybody’s pointing fingers.

“Our portion of the application worked as designed,” said Cheryl Campbell, senior vice president of the Canadian-owned company that built the site. “End-to-end testing was the responsibility of the (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid).”

Okay … so government screwed up. No surprise there.

How does the problem get fixed?

“If there was a silver bullet to answer that question, I would give it to you,” Campbell said. “It’s the end-to-end aspect that is a challenge.”

Hmmmm …

So taxpayers spent hundreds of millions of dollars on a website that doesn’t work … and are now on the hook for hundreds of millions of additional dollars … and there’s still no “silver bullet” for fixing the damn thing?

Great …

Oh man, you can’t make this stuff up. “Person with vested interest in making their company look good said it wasn’t their fault? OK, totally the gubmint’s fault then!”

Last year, the Canadian province of Ontario fired CGI and canceled a
$46 million contract, accusing the company of failing to build an online
medical registry on time. CGI says that it is in talks to resolve that
issue.

CGI Technologies and Solutions, Inc., another subsidiary, had been responsible for overhauling the IT systems for the Hawaii tax department, and then, developing its new delinquent tax collection services. Not only was the software and implementation problematic, but the second contract, signed in 2009, paid CGI millions for work it did not complete, according to a state audit completed in 2010 on the matter.

Still, they hold contracts all over the Hawaii government. Hawaii’s
Health Connector, the state’s new health exchange for providing
insurance options under ObamaCare, hired CGI to build its website. Like
HealthCare.gov, the Hawaii portal had immediate problems when it
launched on Oct. 1, but those have since been rectified and so far,
according to Health Connector officials who spoke with FoxNews.com, they
are not blaming CGI.

Bagnola doesn’t buy it, saying when they overhauled DOTAX’s IT, “the system was broken all the time.”

“I can’t believe people continue to hire incompetency,” he added.

“OK, totally the gubmint’s fault then”

The “gubmint”s” vetting process must be as broken as the Obamacare web site.

Do we have to pay the penalty even if the website still doesn’t work?

Yes, because it’s not a penalty according to the Clown’s in Black Gowns, it’s a tax.

No because the Dims are going to vote to delay the implementation because it’s a feaking Train Wreck! That said, this is Obama’s biggest success – he’s foisted off on the American people a plan that will cause millions to lose the health care they already have, destroy our economy and push us closer to socialism all while letting Republicans make themselves look like inept haters of the “poor and down trodden”.

This partisan tax hike passed by Democrats on Christmas Eve 2009 will eviscerate Generation X and Generation Y with huge tax increases that must be paid. This Obamacare bill must be stopped before it is implemented.
