Georgia paid what they could get away with, like any other good bargainer. Haley sold out cheap!

“Haley sold out cheap”? As far as we know! I do not disagree she is cheap, in most definitions of the word, not when it comes to her money or bank account. So we know about the prime time address at the convention and we know about the fund raiser.

I still don’t understand why the port doesn’t use its profits to dredge the origin of the Atlantic Ocean. Where does all that money go? I’m being naive again, right?
1) Paying for dredging would cut into SPA’s profits. Besides Federal and State $$$ is free.

Never one to advocate extortion, TBG does, however, note that if LBJ [Mayor Joe Riley, for those Not From “roun Heyah] would threaten to dry up the Atlantic by turning off the Ashley and the Cooper, he should be able to bring in enough money to dredge the harbor as well as fund the Aquarium and build and maintain a large enough army to quell insurrections in James Island and such.

Not one human being resisted or opposed to Haley’s re-nomination of anti-private-sector SPA board members McMaster and McKinney in the S.C. Senate in April 2011.
SPA’s board is larded with establishment insider millionaire real estate barons and lawyers, none of whom know the difference between a turnbuckle and a shackle. Or the hourly rental of a fork-lift, yard hustler, toplifter or container crane in Charleston versus Savannah.
Or the major shippers and steamship lines using the port of Savannah, or the on-port cost advantage of the CSX and NS intermodal terminals located inside Garden City Terminal.

Having played the SPA board, the governor, the SC legislature, and us South Carolinians like a violin, Nathan Deal and the GPA are reading these comments and laughing their asses off along with me.
