A youth assistant at Cornerstone Community Church in Orangeburg County, S.C. is in hot water after allegedly molesting two women on church property.
We don’t really care about the story, we just found it funny how the local newspaper – The (Orangeburg, S.C.) Times and Democrat – chose to “tag” its coverage for search engines.
“Tags” are keywords which help internet algorithms locate relevant content on the internet. For example, if a website publishes a story about U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford (or a story which mentions Mark Sanford), that story is given a “Mark Sanford” tag.
Let’s take a look at the “tags” on the Times and Democrat report, shall we?
“Cornerstone Community Church.” Check.
“Local Law Enforcement.” Check.
“Orangeburg Department of Public Safety.” Sure.
“Media Reports.” Okay.
“Religion and Spirituality.” Hmmmm.
“Jesus.” Wait … what?
And here’s our personal favorite …
“White people.”
Seriously … “White people?”
Imagine for a moment a story like this was filed about a black defendant. Does anyone think for a moment that the Times and Democrat would have assigned it a “black people” tag?
Crazy crackers …

Kind of like the time you tagged someone in the headline as a lesbian even though it was irrelevant to the story? https://www.fitsnews.com/2013/09/11/lesbian-councilwoman-accused-of-corruption/
BINGO! Of course has NO problem with someone’s sexual orientation, but he will mention it a gazillion times in the future. Think how many times he would mention it if he cared about it.
OT:
Can anyone tell TBG if Nancy Mace was the first female to graduate from the Citadel?
She is the first white female to graduate from the Citadel.
In TBG’s opinion, it made the story …uh…juicier.
Stuff white people like.
Didn’t see “molestation by youth ministers.” Maybe an oversight?
This could have been a hot story about molestation on church property;instead, you illustrate how truly nerdy white people can be,by talking about ‘tags’.Geek.
Ahhhh, yes. The hometown, the butthole of the world.
heyyy! your problem?
Well, everyone in O’Burg would assume it was a black church…
