August 21, 2013, Fairfax, VA—Americans for Limited Government President Nathan Mehrens today issued the following statement urging the House of Representatives to attach H.R. 2682, the “Defund Obamacare Act of 2013” to the upcoming continuing resolution due on Sept. 30:
“The House has the power to stop Obamacare before 2014 by passing budgets that fund all essential items except the health care law. If the Senate and Obama refuse to fund the rest of the government, it is they who will be shutting it down.
“Not only should members cosponsor the Defund Obamacare Act, they must insist that it be attached to an upcoming vote on the continuing resolution. This is the last opportunity to defund this law before the individual mandate goes into effect, before the Medicaid expansion kicks in and before the state insurance exchange subsidies ensue. Otherwise, the health care law will go into effect and it will become permanent.”

Obama will never sigh it! LMAO!!
Where’s Mark Sanford’s cosponsoring? Has he gone “RINO?”
yep
Good God. Here we go again.
Ah yes, because the House will magically defund Obamacare. No matter what will happen in the Senate… And there just aren’t enough GOP Reps willing to be responsible for all the people in gov’t not getting paid while it’s shut down. Pipe dream.
Addison “Joe means no jobs except for his family”, Wilson wasting our tax dollars again. What a maroon.
Get a life, you fucking losers.
Repubs getting desperate. Come October those rates are actually published and everyone gets to compare how their state at he’s the rates in those states which expanded Medicaid.
Then there’s the additional jobs. That was the tipping point for Voldemort in Fl. Estimated 70,000 jobs in Fl. Could have been 40,000 in SC.
Since we’re spying on everybody, why can’t we watch them die?
…and some will make money from healthcare reform.
‘The Amazon of health insurance’
eHealth CEO on what it will take to insure millions under Obamacare
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/the-amazon-of-health-insurance-2013-08-21
(Excerpt)
As CEO of eHealth, an online insurance broker that recently received government
authorization to enroll people in subsidized health plans in the 36
states with federally operated exchanges next year, Gary Lauer will in
effect be in charge of helping many Americans buy health insurance for
the first time starting Oct. 1.
The announcement sent eHealth’s stock price soaring more than 30%, but
for Lauer, the unveiling of the Affordable Care Act’s new insurance
exchange marketplaces also marks a more personal victory: Under the law,
which prohibits insurers from rejecting people for pre-existing
conditions, he can finally purchase individual health insurance on his
own if he needs it, after a bout with cancer a few years ago made him
ineligible. “I’m CEO of the largest health insurance source in the
country, and even I couldn’t get a health insurance product on it to
insure myself,” says Lauer, adding that he is currently insured through
the company’s employee health plan.
With 25 million to 30 million more people expected to purchase coverage
under the new ACA rules, Lauer is preparing for the individual health
insurance market—eHealth’s market—to double or triple in size. Since
eHealth sold the first health plan online in 1998, it has enrolled more
than 3 million people, 40% of whom were previously uninsured. At least
four other online insurance brokers also signed agreements with the
government to sell subsidized health plans, but eHealth is by far the
largest — in terms of sales volume, product selection and market cap.
NO. The House CANNOT do this by itself. It can’t pass a budget without the Senate then the President agreeing.
Get the hell over it……work on being ready to fix the errors in the law instead of doing playground style antics.
No, we have to leave the bad parts in in order to have a better case at repeal! If it worked too well people might like it, you know, like Medicare and Social Security!
Seriously, though, I’m all for replacing Obamacare with a superior set of reform that accomplishes the same goals. Republicans would never support single payer or a public option, and they seem to hate mandates and regulations. Hell, they even hate Medicaid. What else is there? Well, nothing that I’ve seen in any other country that has universal health care.
But if the GOP wanted to fix health care, their behavior would be completely different.
Exactly, if pubs had a netter solution such as single payer I would be all in support of them but all they do is whine about it and try to defund it with out an alternative. Newt was right~
2. However, “welfare benefits continue to outpace the income that most recipients can expect to earn from an entry-level job,” the study authors said. “And the balance between welfare and work may actually have grown worse in recent years.”
Among the other findings is that welfare in 13 states pays more than $15 an hour, compared with the federal hourly minimum wage of $7.25.
The disparity was even higher in nine states in which welfare pays more than the average first-year teacher’s salary and in the six most-generous states, which pay more than the entry-level salary for a computer programmer.

Bob…remember when prezzie said u could keep your doctor and health plan? Prezzie lied. Member when prezxie said all health care negotiations would be broadcast on CSPAN….. Prezzie lied….member when Prezzie promised to lower medical costs ? Prezzie lied…Bob, if Obamacare is so good, why did prezzie exempt himself and his family from it…yet force it on you and me Bob?
Why do you continue to list lies? I’m keeping my doctor. I’m keeping my health plan. President has always had different care than you or me, and always will. No one is “exempt”. CSPAN, correct. Lower costs? jury out. I didn’t pay for my physical this year. The plan is here and will stay. But it can be made better. Medicare type plan for all Americans is the answer. Not free. Through payroll deduction.
We need to slip a “defund Obamacare” amendment into a bill that defunds Obamacare! Then it’ll pass for sure, amirite?
Fucking sad. More Wilson/Rich horseshit.
