Nancy Mace Rips Lindsey Graham On Syria

U.S. Senate candidate Nancy Mace ripped “Republican” incumbent Lindsey Graham for his support of America’s involvement in the ongoing Syrian Civil War. Specifically, Mace blasted Graham for supporting U.S. President Barack Obama’s decision to send arms to Syrian rebels – including al-Qaeda soldiers who have committed brutal executions of Christian missionaries.

“It would be nice if Sen. Graham wanted to stop sending U.S. arms to al-Qaeda in Syria,” Mace said.

Mace’s comments came in the wake of Graham’s insistence that an American-born al-Qaeda spokesman, Adam Gadahn, be denied his constitutional right to due process.

On that count, Mace appears to agree with Graham.

“Any American who takes up arms against his own country should be tried for treason,” she said. “Any American involved in active combat against other Americans should be killed on the spot.”

Of course she added that “we should respect the bill of rights and the protections of citizenship whenever possible.”

According to Mace, Graham “already believes in treating every American as a potential terrorist through the NSA,” referring to Graham’s enthusiastic support of America’s domestic spying initiative.

“I will always side with the Constitution over Sen. Graham’s judgment,” she said.

FITS reached out to both of Graham’s other declared rivals – S.C. Sen. Lee Bright (R-Spartanburg) and Piedmont, S.C. businessman Richard Cash – in an effort to get their thoughts on Graham’s conflicted al-Qaeda stance, but neither was immediately available for comment.

Nancy’s such a foreign policy whiz that SURELY she’s aware that the Syrian Opposition is made up of at least 11 groups, which include many secularists and Christians. Since she’s no “doe-eyed Neocon,” she knows statecraft includes sometimes achieving positive ends by partnering with unsavory characters. The First Woman To Graduate From The Citadel surely learned in college about how the US military and CIA has played ball with nice Christian-loving groups like the Egyptian military and Saddam’s Ba’ath Party when we had bigger enemies to worry about.

You just wouldn’t know that from listening to her.

Pretty sure it’s generally accepted common knowledge that the vast majority of Christians in Syria support Assad. They saw what happened after the U.S. deposed Saddam in Iraq and see it happening in their own country. Before the U.S. invaded Iraq, there were approximately 1.5 million Christians there. Now, there’s less than 300,000.

She also learned from The Citadel that the U.S. gave tons of weapons to nice rebel Islamic groups in the past like Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.

You’re a fool if you think the U.S. needs to be involved in Syria- at all.

There’s no purpose in supporting any of these scum. Bring our troops home and let the mooch-a-jadeen kill each other off.

Ha! Very funny. FITS has not endorsed Mace – and may not. She has to prove herself like any of the other candidates. In fact this website has been critical of some of her early stumbles as a candidate. But +2 to you, good sir, for a nice zing.

The solution is to depose Heir Grahmnesty

Oh Nancy August 20, 2013 at 1:04 pm

The “solution” is freedom and flags and the Constitution and other jingoistic nonsense. She’s bereft of policy ideas; she simply wants to be senator. She’s taking some simplistic buzzwords like “the NSA” or “arming Al Qaeda” and pretending like there’s substance behind it. I would be embarrassed for her to be a state house rep, much less a US Senator.

I would agree that they all do that. That said, have you asked her? Did you make any effort?

I can’t believe she said this.

“We should respect the bill of rights and the protections of citizenship whenever possible.”

WHENEVER POSSIBLE? WTF?

If I wanted a fascist I would vote for Grahamnesty.

I thought Mace was part of the Liberty movement? Obviously not based on these comments. She’s got a lot to learn. A lot!

She has a lot to learn…? Really..??

Well all information is based upon …”deception”….is it not..?

We think she is demonstrating her “coy-ness”..! Maybe…maybe not..!?

We wonder if you think Al Franken had a LOT to learn..? Consider his actions since he has been elected Senator..? How does the Rail Lines in Al Franken’s world differ from the Rail lines in South Carolina..?

Give Nancy Mace a map and she will destroy every action Graham will ever make..! PERIOD…!

It is a thing of “Ceips Beauty” to …watch..!! ROFL…….

In the 21st century USA, the “Liberty movement” = fascism

From Sinclair Lewis’ 1935 novel “It Can’t Happen Here”:
“But he saw too that in America the struggle was befogged by the fact that the worst Fascists were they who disowned the word ‘Fascism’ and preached enslavement to Capitalism under the style of Constitutional and Traditional Native American Liberty.”

LOL…….LOL………clearly this article is a bait article that boastfully shows the weakness in the MACE right flank. We wonder if Bright and Graham will take the bait and “play” ball..? How should voters respond..?

…and this article states that it is five hours old..? Yeah….right.!

How should Google Earth be used to illustrate the “mocking” points in the MACE, Bright, Cash and Graham campaigns…?

What if Wil Folks was portrayed by “Scarface” ..!?

How would “Scarface” be positioned on the Charleston Airport Authority subcontractor “list” to be pushing shipments of WHAT…??

How would this be used at a high school football game to garner viral video tactics on the “Nile Version” of the World of War Craft..!?

Ka—-boom…!

Nancy must keep her name in the public’s mind to have her opportunity to beat Lindsey. Criticisms are common and easy, but in our evolving world of politics, the American People must have workable solutions.

I know little about Ms. Mace, but she’s right about Syria. Sending U.S. arms into this conflict is a bad idea. We need to stay out of Syria — not every fight is ours. Graham and all the other pols in support of this initiative will be running for cover in five years when our weapons show up at the scene of a gruesome terrorist attack in New York or Tel Aviv. Stay out of it!

As far as Gadahn is concerned, I was taught the Constitution applied to all U.S. citizens, even if unpopular, criminal, or traitorous. Even Aaron Burr had a trial. For Gadahn, nab him, put him on trial, sentence him to prison or death if convicted and be very wary of those championing non-Constitutional solutions to our problems. You never know who’ll be next.

Obama Promises Syria Strike Will Have No Objective

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) — Attempting to quell criticism of his proposal for a limited military mission in Syria, President Obama floated a more modest strategy today, saying that any U.S. action in Syria would have “no objective whatsoever.”

“Let me be clear,” he said in an interview on CNN. “Our goal will not be to effect régime change, or alter the balance of power in Syria, or bring the civil war there to an end. We will simply do something random there for one or two days and then leave.”

“I want to reassure our allies and the people of Syria that what we are about to undertake, if we undertake it at all, will have no purpose or goal,” he said. “This is consistent with U.S. foreign policy of the past.”

While Mr. Obama clearly hoped that his proposal of a brief and pointless intervention in Syria would reassure the international community, it immediately drew howls of protest from U.S. allies, who argued that two days was too open-ended a timeframe for such a mission.

That criticism led White House spokesman Jay Carney to brief reporters later in the day, arguing that the President was willing to scale down the U.S. mission to “twenty-four hours, thirty-six tops.”

“It may take twenty-four hours, but it could also take twelve,” Mr. Carney said.

“Maybe we get in there, take a look around, and get out right away. But however long it takes, one thing will not change: this mission will have no point. The President is resolute about that.”
