Columbia SC, August 9, 2013: Gamecock Stop and Boykin & Company owner Justin Evans today applauded NCAA president Mark Emmert’s decision to have the NCAA stop selling replica jerseys amid a rash of criticism that the governing agency has endured as it investigates players’ alleged profiting from such memorabilia.
“Today represents a rare win for small business in the collegiate apparel community,” Evans stated. “Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy and have a hard time competing with an agency like the NCAA that has unlimited resources. Further, the governing agency of Division 1 football should never have been in the business of selling player memorabilia to begin with,” Evans continued.
“If you’re in the market for custom Gamecock apparel, we at Gamecock Stop are open for business,” Evans said. “We proudly produce Gamecock replica jerseys for sale to fans complete with whatever custom number you choose. While we will not put player names on a jersey pursuant to NCAA rules, we will however put your own custom wording as an option to our customers.”
Gamecock Stop is a locally owned and operated business located at 2701 Rosewood Dr, Suite D, and Columbia SC 29205.

My last name is Clowney. And my wife’s last name is Lattimore.
See you soon, Mr. Evans.

Happy for the small businesses, but the NCAA is still a bunch of douches.
