It would be interesting to see an analysis by race of the agency’s clients together with the recidivism rates. Also, the same analysis for adults and juveniles still incarcerated. A ten-year analysis must be available.

Bet the church mentioned in the summary was African-American. Would not be surprised in the least..

Wonder if these fine Christians are the ones who have the 20 computer that have disappeared

If so, I’m wondering if Thomas deducted them as a charitable donation on her income tax return. That would really be a bummer if she did…..hmmmm!
Looking at the church’s website, the church appears to be a well-run and well-funded organization. It makes me wonder, based on Thomas’ hiring criteria, how many of the church members (or their relatives) she has hired or are employed at her agency. That would be an excellent line of inquiry for the LAC to investigate. If I had the authority this would be my top priority.

Plus, the GOP has been about “talking points” since Newt Gingrich hired Frank Luntz 25+ years ago. Con artists find those talking points real easy to master because they are so widely used and so predictable.
That make you an easy sucker for a fair to middling con man or woman.

There used to be a B&CB Merit Agency and a Merit Test that SC state employees actually had to pass to get a job. With every agency doing their own hiring LIKE THE DEIFIED PRIVATE SECTOR there is simply no longer a bottom beneath which an employee cannot fall. They can crawl out of the sewer and be hired.
In the name of “reorganization” we have killed a meritocracy in favor of cronyism.
How many states go backwards like that?
