The private digital information of tens of millions of “free” American citizens will soon flow into a massive centralized database housed at a restricted 1.5 million square-foot warehouse facility in Bluffdale, Utah. This sprawling facility – which is costing taxpayers between $2-4 billion to construct – will be run by the National Security Administration (NSA), the agency that’s currently under fire for its Orwellian warrantless domestic surveillance programs.
The Utah facility won’t be fully operational until September 2013, but its alleged capabilities – most notably its acres of sprawling “data halls” – are downright scary.
According to one NSA whistleblower, the Utah facility was built for one reason and one reason only: To collect and store an unlimited amount of personal electronic data that could subsequently be mined (without a warrant) by NSA personnel in Fort Meade, Maryland.
Rumors of the Utah facility’s capabilities have been widely discussed for more than a year – but it took the rapidly unraveling scandal over the government’s seizure of Verizon phone records to bring its existence to the forefront of the public consciousness.
“Flowing through its servers and routers and stored in near-bottomless databases will be all forms of communication, including the complete contents of private emails, cell phone calls, and Google searches, as well as all sorts of personal data trails—parking receipts, travel itineraries, bookstore purchases, and other digital ‘pocket litter,'” the website Wired reported last March.
Amazing …
In addition to the Utah center, the NSA is using facilities in Colorado, Georgia and Maryland to spy on American citizens. The administration of U.S. President Barack Obama – which is enthusiastically expanding domestic spying networks initiated under the reign of former president George W. Bush – claims that these measures are “critical” in prosecuting the so-called “War on Terror.”
Obama’s administration also claims it has been providing Congress with regular updates on the program, although three months ago Obama’s intelligence chief flat out lied to U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) about the scope of its activities.
In a recent post entitled “Evil Empire,” we decried the government’s belief in “the unimpeachable authority to spy on any of us without a warrant.”
Little did we know the extent to which this was (is) transpiring …
“Obama must immediately call for the discontinuation of the PRISM program – and any other domestic spying initiatives – and destroy any and all files associated with it,” we wrote this week.
It must also immediately discontinue the construction of this Utah facility (and any other “spy centers” that conduct warrantless invasions of our privacy without probable cause).
Make no mistake: This is not some academic discussion that limited government advocates should engage in esoterically. If the government doesn’t get rid of these spy centers of its own accord, then freedom-loving Americans must take it upon themselves to target them for elimination.
That’s right … one way or the other (hook or crook, as they say), these massive taxpayer-funded vacuums of liberty must go.

Yep,
This is scary stuff but so are retailers listening to cell phone conversations while the customer is roaming the isles looking for peanut butter, feminine hygene products, whatever. Not to mention computer enhanced facial/body language videos that help marketers where to place thier products.
As bad as the Fed snooping BS is, private companies know more about your personal lives and spending habits in 5 minutes than the Feds can glean in 5 years
Years ago it was the losers at Radio Shack that wanted your phone number(back when they sold REAL electronic repair stuff – I can’t remember the last time I bought anything from RS), now just about every large-medium size retailer wants your phone number or even more.
I tell them to fuck off (in a nice way of course).
Not to mention the cops asking you where you are going or where you have been during a routine traffic stop. Depending on the situation I lie to them and tell them some innoculous BS (being respectful to their authority). But I don’t appreciate it one damn bit.
“Never give any shit to the law, they have all kinds of toys that they have a hard-on to use”
Every day, I see more abuse of authority and it ain’t from the Feds, its from local authorities.
The difference between the Feds and Radio Shack being that you can tell Radio Shack to fuck off….
Not so much the Feds if they want to know your business badly enough.
I just give them the cities police desk phone number.
— if one is available in your area, give them Dial-A-Prayer…..like I did
That’s a good idea or maybe an escort service listed in Charlotte’s “Creative Loafing”
I’m gonna do that the next time I’m in Charlotte!!!
Also, if you want to have some fun, collect some payphone numbers and when you’re bored call them. You may get to talk to some interesting folks.
My favorites were the payphones at Riverbanks Zoo and Dutch Square Mall, but I don’t know if they are still there.
Just ask, if someone answers, what’s the weather like today, or if any store has something on sale……
They can also click on to your home page, e-mails and face book to check out your interests,
Plus if you google for information you get deluged with unasked for advertising e-mails, There has to be a way to stop the unwanted e-mails.

willie, oh willie, wake up willie, there are some fellas knocking on your door
someone at google has fucked up big time. you were not supposed to be able to get any google images of this “nonexistent” site
goggle and the Federales have a fudge packing deal not to rat each other out
fuck each other yes, fuck the public, of course
oh, just be warned again. A couple of google guys made the mistake of driving their googlegomobile up to this site last year to get some 3D shots
word is that when the last space shuttle was launched the two guys and their googlegomobile were in the payload bay
There’s a huge NSA eaves dropping center at Fort Gordon , in Augusta, Georgia. Brand new and already adding on.
—-not to worry, because they will become famous as the first permanent residents of Mars……

Not to worry,
When an EMP device is detonated, all this microprocessed communication will be fried and all this will be a moot point.
Only the Pony Express and carrier pigeon delivery will be effective. But then then NSA will have mounted horse interception and trained falcons to intercept the carrier pigeons!!
Seriously, modern society spread it legs (and lubed up with copious amounts of K-Y jelly for extra measure) on this years ago and the horse is not only out of the barn but galloping fast as hell two counties away and increasing its distance from the barn every second!!!
My hobby is captguring extremely rare birds throughout North America ( I just came back from a successful capture of one of the rarest birds, a male, female, and two little ones) but I’m interested in where you are hiding the carrier pigeons……
I used to rent a house from an Australian lady (WWII bride) who was the US National Champion racing and carrier pigeon breeder/trainer and first US Judge of this stuff.
The woman had trophies from the floor to the ceiling of her living room.
Learned a thing or two from her.
She was totally cool (as are 99.9% of Australians!!)
I do not think capturing rare birds is something to brag about however (unless you are capturing to breed & release back into the wild).
I financially support the Carolina Raptor Center and personally spotted/reported a rare kite in the northern Spartanburg area a few years back. Damn thing flew like no other raptor I have ever seen and it was a big mother to boot………
Am I getting carrier pigeons and homing pigeons mixed up? Which one is extinct?I posted in haste because I was setting up a joke.
I’m thinking carrier pigeons are the extinct ones.
The Australian lady focused more on the racing pigeons but did have some homing pigeons. She was serious about the stuff. The “Greenville News” wrote a 1-2 page article about her 20 or so years back. I’ve got the article saved in a drawer somewhere….
Homing pigeons were actually used with some success in WWII and one gained fame when it was shot by a German soldier while delivering a message and got some kind of ceremonial medal. I think the bird is stuffed and on display in some museum come to think of it….
You might recall the “Andy Capp” comic strip featured Andy’s racing pigeon coop and his pigeons from time to time.
You may like this article about a WWII carrier pigeon skeleton found in a chimney with a message – I remembered this and thought it was pretty neat…..
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2226203/Skeleton-hero-World-War-II-carrier-pigeon-chimney-secret-coded-message-attached-leg.html
Funny you should mention that….
A year or so ago, I found the skeleton of a bird with several bands on one of its legs. I called SC Nat. Resources and the biologist asked me if the bands were plastic or metal. I informed him that they were plastic. He told me that plastic bands are for racing/homing/carrier (whatever) pigeons and are of no real interest to Wildlife agencies.. Metal bands are for migratory/raptor/etc. birds and are the ones Wildlife officials want to track after being banded.
Never too old to learn something!!!
Thanks for the link. I “hit” it and got no response. I’ll try later…….
This photo “jumped” out at me this morning – I’m sending it to family and friends.who have been “hen-pecked”. Even birds do it! You may find the short article interesting.

George Orwell was right. Just a couple of decades off.
Actually its more like the “Gattica” flick
Read about the DNA swabbing shit the Supreme Court OK’ed this week?
In a few years you will have to “submit” to a DNA “swabbing” if you get a traffic violation, much like a DUI is today.
You can refuse it of course, but the penalities will be severe (it will be a condition of your driving license which is a privilege – NOT a right)
And it won’t be the Feds doing it. It will be the local/county/state cops performing the ‘swabbing”
Remember: “Tuesday is Soylent Green day”

One has more privacy in Communist China.
There are flights to China everyday. Can we book you a one way ticket?
You first libtard
Their immigration laws are tough.
Only because China censors the living shit out of the internet, therefore less “monitoring” is necessary.
Actually you don’t there was an article on the news just the other day about a lady in China who sent a petition to the White House asking the Obama administration to help bring attention to the dangers of a petrochemical plant being built near her home. Chinese security forces were at her door within 24 hours directing her to remove the petition.
We may not have long to wait…China will buy out the USA. Are you ready for a future where China will employ millions of American workers and dominate thousands of small communities all over the United States? Such a future would be unimaginable to many Americans, but the truth is that it is already starting to happen. Chinese acquisition of U.S. businesses set a new all-time record last year, and it is on pace to absolutely shatter that record this year. Meanwhile, China is voraciously gobbling up real estate and is establishing economic beachheads all over America. If China continues to build economic power inside the United States, it will eventually become the dominant economic force in thousands of small communities all over the nation. China is not just relying on acquisitions to expand its economic power. The truth is that “economic beachheads” are being established all over America.
China is on the rise and America is in decline. If you doubt this, just read the following list of facts which comes from one of my previous articles entitled “40 Ways That China Is Beating America“…
#1 As I mentioned above, when you total up all imports and exports of goods, China is now the number one trading nation on the entire planet.
#2 During 2012, we sold about 110 billion dollars worth of stuff to the Chinese, but they sold about 425 billion dollars worth of stuff to us. That was the largest trade deficit that one nation has had with another nation in the history of the world.
#3 Overall, the U.S. has run a trade deficit with China over the past decade that comes to more than 2.3 trillion dollars.
#4 China now has the largest new car market in the entire world.
#5 China has more foreign currency reserves than anyone else on the planet.
#6 China is the number one gold producer in the world.
#7 China is also the number one gold importer in the world.
#8 The uniforms for the U.S. Olympic team were made in China.
#9 85 percent of all artificial Christmas trees are made in China.
#10 The new World Trade Center tower is going to include glass that has been imported from China.
#11 The new Martin Luther King memorial on the National Mall was made in China.
#12 One of the reasons it is so hard to export stuff to China is because of their tariffs. According to the New York Times, a Jeep Grand Cherokee that costs $27,490 in the United States costs about $85,000 in China thanks to all the tariffs.
#13 The Chinese economy has grown 7 times faster than the U.S. economy has over the past decade.
#14 The United States has lost a staggering 32 percent of its manufacturing jobs since the year 2000.
#15 The United States has lost an average of 50,000 manufacturing jobs per month since China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001.
#16 Overall, the United States has lost a total of more than 56,000 manufacturing facilities since 2001.
#17 According to the Economic Policy Institute, America is losing half a million jobs to China every single year.
#18 China now produces more than twice as many automobiles as the United States does.
#19 Since the auto industry bailout, approximately 70 percent of all GM vehicles have been built outside the United States.
#20 After being bailed out by U.S. taxpayers, General Motors is currently involved in 11 joint ventures with companies owned by the Chinese government. The price for entering into many of these “joint ventures” was a transfer of “state of the art technology” from General Motors to the communist Chinese.
#21 Back in 1998, the United States had 25 percent of the world’s high-tech export market and China had just 10 percent. Ten years later, the United States had less than 15 percent and China’s share had soared to 20 percent.
#22 The United States has lost more than a quarter of all of its high-tech manufacturing jobs over the past ten years.
#23 China’s number one export to the U.S. is computer equipment, but the number one U.S. export to China is “scrap and trash”.
#24 The U.S. trade deficit with China is now more than 30 times larger than it was back in 1990.
#25 China now consumes more energy than the United States does.
#26 China is now the leading manufacturer of goods in the entire world.
#27 China uses more cement than the rest of the world combined.
#28 China is now the number one producer of wind and solar power on the entire globe.
#29 There are more pigs in China than in the next 43 pork producing nations combined.
#30 Today, China produces nearly twice as much beer as the United States does.
#31 Right now, China is producing more than three times as much coal as the United States does.
#33 China now produces 11 times as much steel as the United States does.
#34 China produces more than 90 percent of the global supply of rare earth elements.
#35 China is now the number one supplier of components that are critical to the operation of U.S. defense systems.
#36 A recent investigation by the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services found more than one million counterfeit Chinese parts in the Department of Defense supply chain.
#37 15 years ago, China was 14th in the world in published scientific research articles. But now, China is expected to pass the United States and become number one very shortly.
#38 China now awards more doctoral degrees in engineering each year than the United States does.
#39 The average household debt load in the United States is 136% of average household income. In China, the average household debt load is 17% of average household income.
#40 The Chinese have begun to buy up huge amounts of U.S. real estate. In fact, Chinese citizens purchased one out of every ten homes that were sold in the state of California in 2011.
And what we have seen so far may just be the tip of the iceberg as far as Chinese “investment” in U.S. real estate is concerned. The following is a brief excerpt from a Bloomberg article that was posted just last week…
China is studying the possibility of investing a portion of its $3.4 trillion in foreign-exchange reserves in U.S. real estate, said two people with direct knowledge of the situation.
The State Administration of Foreign Exchange began the study after seeing signs of a recovery in the U.S. property market, said the people, who asked not to be identified as they weren’t authorized to speak publicly about the matter. China may acquire properties, invest in real estate funds or buy stakes in property companies, they said. The safety of the investments will be the top priority, said the people, who didn’t elaborate on a timetable or other details.
So what can we do about all of this?
Unfortunately, not a whole lot. Both major political parties seem to be fully convinced that merging our economy with the economy of communist China is a great idea. I would not expect major changes in our policies regarding China any time soon.
For now, I will just leave you with one piece of advice…
Learn to speak Chinese. You might need it someday.
http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/meet-your-new-boss-buying-large-employers-will-enable-china-to-dominate-1000s-of-u-s-communities
Oh, I forgot. The USA does have more homosexuals than China.
I imagine the SCOTUS will rule on gay marriages in the affirmative soon. Can you imagine such a policy in China’s military? Otherwise we would not see this coming from the desk of SECDEF: The Defense Manpower Data Center is committed to upgrading DEERS/RAPIDS so that eligible SSDPs and their families can begin receiving benefits/ID cards on 1 September 2013.
— interesting, but help me out and define those acronyms, please…….
This is just a rehash of Michael Crighton’s “Rising Sun” written back in the early 90’s (he was one of my favorite authors BTW and I learned a thing or two from “Rising Sun” – I scored some points working with some Japanese “big dogs while on an engineering project back in 93-94).
If you tin-foil hat wearing paranoid-schiozids are serious about this stuff you need to push the politicans for an exclusive Pan-American trading zone from northern Canada to the Chile and tell the rest of the world to fuck off.
Other than that you are pissing in the wind……….
Dude, I see where your head’s at, but come on man.
They make people disappear in China (and by “disappear” I mean “die,” of course) with no due process, and for some pretty minor infractions, too, if the state is the perceived victim…
Our privacy level is slipping a bit, but we’re not quite there yet.

Nice reference to Tolkien btw.

I have been part of the government monitored wired world for years. I have multiple gov’t provided email identities, a gov’t provided crackberry and gov’t provided computers/networking.
Knowing how some of these systems worked, I began to play games with them several years ago. When someone does something for me that I appreciate, I send them an email that says “you da bomb”, if they send good news, I reply “dynamite!” I describe arguments as “blow ups” – even though I know those phrases are long out of fashion. I use Latin, German and the various other language phrases I’ve picked up whenever possible. I randomly send outdated tactical maps of the training areas at Fort Jackson and other decidedly non-important places as attachments to emails along with whatever other document the requester asked for.
I’m sure someone, somewhere has a file on me – I’m equally sure they’re bored with the contents and think I’m just “odd”, I really don’t care. The Gov’t paid for the network and they can monitor it all they want, they pay for my crackberry and can monitor it all they want as well. They don’t have to worry about me, I’ve held a high level security clearance for more than 30 years.
When they need to start worrying is when I drop off the network.
I really do not understand where the Feds, their alphabet law enforcement agencies, the federalized National Guard units, and federalized sheriff departments think they are going with this. In any shtf scenario, all the tapping, tracing, monitoring, hacking, listening they are doing is going to result in one standing order: “stay in your homes and listen to the radio for further instructions”. You can not resupply if we are in our homes. You can not eat if we are in our homes. You can not get home if we are in our homes. What is the point? If it gets to the point that only state and federal employees have a paycheck and benefits and body armor and guns, then what? This is a waste of time and money. If they take down the Bill of Rights in the name of national security, what then? Stay in our homes? Starve? The guys and gals out there cashing those paychecks defending these unlawful laws that insult our ancestor’s efforts to free us from human debauchery and despotism need a reality check.

Do you really think that Walmart keeps all that info on i-cloud..?
What jury member would accept this as verified evidence..??
Wil, would you kindly pick up the phone and call one of Senator Scott’s staff to verify this and offer there name and phone number and email address and screen shot of your phones “calls made” list with a time stamp of ..today..!!!? Do you know how to do that..?? Heck, just what did you do the last time you went to DC to have a chat..??

They don’t need all of that, they can just go on Facebook. We kindly give the entire world any info they want……and some they don’t want.
Why can’t MBC give us all the info we want?

I say we should all just give ’em an earful (or eyeful)! Go for broke… in Hillary Clinton’s words – What does it matter?
