Is Beth Bernstein’s Skirt Too Short?

S.C. Rep. Beth Bernstein (D-Richland) doesn’t seem particularly interested in “walking the walk” when it comes to ethics reform at the S.C. State House … which is a shame. We endorsed Bernstein – and had high hopes for her – but so far her commitment to doing the right thing in state…

S.C. Rep. Beth Bernstein (D-Richland) doesn’t seem particularly interested in “walking the walk” when it comes to ethics reform at the S.C. State House … which is a shame. We endorsed Bernstein – and had high hopes for her – but so far her commitment to doing the right thing in state government seems limited to doing what uber-liberal status quo S.C. Senator Joel Lourie (D-Richland) tells her to do.

Which is almost always the wrong thing …

Of course Bernstein does “walk the walk” in the most literal sense … as in she frequently engages in a pattern of locomotion across a solid substrate.

The only question: Does she do so in a skirt that’s too short for the S.C. State House?

According to several lawmakers who spoke with us on condition of anonymity, the length of one of Bernstein’s dresses was drawing critical remarks from female “Republicans” in the S.C. House of Representatives this week. Bear in mind these biddies have always disliked Bernstein – which we attribute to the fact Bernstein is built like a brick barnyard whereas they are built like collapsing inflatables.

Also it’s worth noting that Gov. Nikki Haley used to wear skirts and dresses much shorter than that back when she was a member of the S.C. General Assembly. (And still does).

Anyway … since the question has been raised (and since it has sparked quite the discussion on Twitter) we figured we would put it to a vote of our readers.

We believe the answer is an unequivocal “no.” Sure that hemline is residing a couple of inches above the knee, but in case you can’t tell Bernstein’s legs go all the way to the floor. And she’s rocking some killer open-toe, hidden platform black slingbacks to boot!

But what do we know …

Vote in our poll and share your thoughts in our comments section below …

UPDATE: Seriously … nobody else is impressed we know what “open-toe, hidden platform black slingbacks” are? Sheesh …

Nice legs. Never should be covered because of government dictates. Especially if that is from jealous female legislators.

Skirt’s fine, but those shoes are horrible. They’re like platforms for old people. Beth: you can do better!

From my close observations, that or shorter is the current style and it beats the hell out of pantsuits for chubby ladies.

I dunno, I don’t mind a woman with a nice bush. Being a child of the 70’s, I have always found them to be normal.

Women with hairy pits or legs, not so much.

This is what is wrong with politics in this country and especially regarding female politicians. We want to be taken seriously as policymakers and professionals yet when we are elected, we are more concerned with what the other is wearing which lends itself to petty discussions like these. Let’s focus on what is wrong with the state and what we can do to fix our problems instead of the high school bickering and nit-picking about clothes. If we would like to be treated like our male counterparts, we need to act better. I believe Representative Bernstein has been focusing on her campaign pledges and trying to work on real issues instead of this sophomoric pettiness.

This isn’t what’s wrong. Don’t be insecure. If Bernstein had any competence as a public servant, I’d buy her a full slut suit just to annoy fat uptight insecure bitches. In my younger days I loved to so scandalize, like wearing a skirt while riding my Viffer (sport bike) to work (okay I compromised, lace shorts underneath) and way more ‘scandalous’ stuff. A secure woman doesn’t pay any attention to insecure bitches (okay maybe we get into conversations with them while in full slut regalia just to watch the uptights squirm). What’s wrong is low information voters who don’t know the difference between empty marketing rhetoric, and verifiable performance data. “Believing” Bernstein is doing something is as empty as a politician’s promise. Proof is in the data. Which I doubt many people actually review, much less understand.

I would be more than willing to make the 200 mile trip to squire you at Curry’s Lake, perhaps a few nips on the sandbar at Mckittricks Bridge afterward.

Alas fine squire, that would be lovely but my primary (hubby) hasn’t given me permission for such an outing yet. We have a deal he gets to go first. So far he’s far too busy fitting me in between his fishing jaunts and his honeydew list (that he has to get under control before he gets permission) on the farm. He says he’s so full up with woman’s words from me, he couldn’t stand having to pretend to listen to another.

Oh you bad boy!! You wouldn’t be the first fella that completely ignored the full force of my charms because he was smitten by hubby’s healthy fit country boy good looks. A fella had a flat tire on the road near our house. Hubby, being the manly mechanic type, helped the dude out. Who wasn’t. Manly. Dude kept fawning over hubby and talking about where dude lived with his ‘sister’. Apparently hoping hubby would visit. Hilarious!

PS. Why would any kick ass competent skilled woman want to be treated like easily distracted male (or female) buffoon counterparts??

“…but so far her commitment to doing the right thing in state government seems limited to doing what uber-liberal status quo S.C. Lourie does exactly what Jean Hoefer Toal tells him to do because she and his daddy were “close friends.” Toal further indentured Lourie when she approved the Lillian McBride fiasco. Lourie has got to go.
