Sanford Blasted For Slamming Rival’s Absences

Former S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford had an impressive performance in this week’s first congressional district GOP debate with former Charleston County councilman Curtis Bostic.

Of course he did make one costly mistake …

At one point during the debate, Sanford chided Bostic for his repeated absences as a member of County Council. According to Sanford, Bostic missed “20 percent of his meetings and sometimes 30 percent,” classifying such an attendance record as “poor.”

Wait … Mark Sanford said that? The guy who secretly ditched his state (and then lied about it) so he could bang his mistress on another continent? That guy wants to trash talk somebody else’s attendance record?

Hmmmm …

As it turns out, Bostic had a much better excuse than Sanford for missing work: His wife had cancer.

Ouch … “+2” for Bostic on that exchange.

Of course Bostic made a major miscue of his own during the debate, taking credit for creating a green space program which he claimed relied exclusively on private donations.

Turns out that’s not the case … as more than $211 million in tax money has been spent on the project.

Bostic is also refusing to release his statement of economic interest prior to the GOP runoff, denying first district voters the opportunity to see what sort of controversial interests have been buttering his bread. Sanford released his disclosure form, revealing that he made $130,000 last year as a Fox News commentator.

Recent polls show Sanford with a 13-point lead over Bostic, but we think the race is much closer than that. The winner of the runoff – scheduled for April 2 – goes up against Democrat Elizabeth Colbert-Busch.

Takes an adulterer with really big balls to call out a man for standing by his wife as she battles cancer……or maybe a man with no balls.

Amen. Bostic’s wife doesn’t just have garden-variety cancer. She has been fighting virulent metastatic breast cancer for over ten years. I hate to say this here but believe it’s got to be said: I think she’s had double mastectomies. Throughout the whole battle — with death, really — she’s been pleasant and upbeat. Sanford should be ashamed of himself. BTW, I support Colbert-Busch.

Mark Sanford’s penis – his “head.” The locus of Sanford’s consciousness, observation, reason, memory, emotion, intuition and all other attributes that makes him a thinking human. Has an understated sense of humor, often making jokes at the expense of his wife Jenny.

Things between Sanford,Bostic and his wife appeared to be very friendly and cordial after the debate. Thought it was a very good debate between two men of faith. I still can’t figure out why the Colbert-Busch-League communications team apparently believes it is a wise campaign strategy to apparently send people like yourself(and others) out on this blog to post vile, pornographic and personal attacks on the Sanford/Bostic families and their belief in Christ, in this very conservative district. Good Friday? Really?Just appears to be insane and DESPERATE to me. What do I know.

“. . . Sanford’s belief in Christ . . . on Good Friday . . .”

That’s a new angle. Sanford believes first in his career first, pussy second, his four boys third, then his farm.

Christ is way down the list. During his years of residence on Sullivans Island, he never darkened our doorstep.

He lived exactly one block away.

Sanford:
*Just like Peeler professing his “faith, family and friends”, slogan when running for Gov., singing in the chouir of his church, all the while sleeping with his next door neighbor and campaign worker. After being caught he and Donna began to immediately attend services together. I hear there was another (employeed in the Lt Gov office too) and now another in Clemson/Greenville area.
*Haley (Ms. can’t keep my dress down) went to Church in Lexington while running for Gov and taking illegal money from Wilbur Smith and Lexington Medical Center. members of the Church tell me she has not been seen since.
Wonder if she goes to the SIKH temple?
*You can bet Richard Eckstrom will be frequently present while running for re-election.
Wonder if he will sport Kelly with him?
*Danny Frazier was advised, by Halfacre, to join his large Lexington Church, to help his election, while having his affair with Cynthia and “Express Repentence”.
Aren’t you suppose to” go and sin no more”.
I’m not sure any of the above got the message, no matter how many times they attend and profess or witness their false faith!
I just hope the people are not decieved, sure GOD will not be.

If he knew his wife had cancer that was bad, but on the other hand if he did not know, he should make a public apology to Mr. and Mrs, Bostic Out of curiosity, how many people knew about Bostic’s wife’s condition? Didn’t they keep it quiet?

It was and is widely known in their church because she was also absent from church taking treatments or flat on her back in bed. The women in church knew, and it was known throughout in the church. Curtis certainly tried to keep it quiet but he is the lead deacon there and was often absent due to her cancer treatments.

Hell, even if he did actually walk on the Appalachian Trail that fateful weekend. He still ditched his kids on Father’s Day to go to self-absorption land.
And, gosh, talking about being AWOL for things. Didn’t he ditch his commitment to the Air Force, after having that on the road to Damascus revelation about how valuable our armed forces are before he enlisted. Did he EVER make a required commitment.
I know the military generally doesn’t go after guys like that. If they enlist, but really don’t want to be there, they don’t want to bother with them.
But it’s amazing there were no ramifications from his dodging of service, when it was so public a case. Proves again the class divide between the haves and have-nots.

That was a dumb question coming from a seasoned politician. You do not ask questions that are loaded like that unless you know the answer. Sanford may well not wish to dwell on it but he certainly should look into it further on the sly to see if it is true and what kept this Liberal from attending meetings. It is still hard to me to fathom why he would not ask that without more background research.

Never mind, that he offers no novel solutions, a blemished past with a history of AWOL & abuse of taxpayer funds only repaid when caught, and a lack of charisma and consensus building skills needed to be a leader. It is doubtful they will hold this faux pas against him. After all, he has had so many that clearly flag him as someone with issues.
