While I realize it would cost us a great Treasurer, I wish Mr Loftis were running for Governor. He would be welcome relief from the current list of terrible “choices” we are faced with, going into 2026.

I don’t think Alan is a bad choice and honestly I think he would work well with Curtis!

Out of the lot of them, Alan is my pick. His years as a prosecutor bothers me a bit. I get the feeling he wants to lock as many people as possible up and throw away the key. Granted, there are some who are deserving of this treatment, but McMaster (and I detect similarities in their personalities) was likewise a prosecutor and his mindset is on prosecution and persecution above liberty. McMaster opposed a common sense measure in The Legislature that would have dropped charges on people with pending cases for unlawfully carrying a pistol. This measure only applied to people charged for carrying without a permit, not people carrying in the commission of an actual crime or prohibited persons. Still Henry fought it and I believe, may have vetoed it. Prosecutors think laws should be written so anyone charged is punished and never walks. That is not an ideal mindset for a Governor.

I wish Loftis would run for Governor too. While he can get hot under the collar and struggles to “suffer fools,” we are in an era of history in this country where milquetoast, mild-mannered conservatives and RINOs will be the doom of the Republic. After 30 years of playing nice with the demonic left, the hordes are now at the gates. We need unapologetic, hard-hitting “Lancelots”, not “Galahads” right now. Our state needs to be a fortress of conservatism. Alan is “OK” but he doesn’t seem very fiscally conservative and is kinda a glad-hander who will protect elites- although he is good on law & order, and seems to know how to act in a crisis.

Loftis is the only statewide elected official that won’t “obey” the state senate and that angers that bunch of nit wits to no end.
I watched some of those senate hearings and was appalled and embarrassed by the Senate and my Senator.
As far as I can tell most people think the Senate is a room full of losers and liars. My senators is.
