In the 30 years that old Enos has been in office, he has done almost exactly nothing – other than get his name on things that also do almost exactly nothing (except waste tax dollars). That largely ignored pedestrian bridge over I-277 as you come into Columbia – it’s the Enos Clyburn Memorial Overpass to Nowhere (Real name – James E. Clyburn Pedestrian Overpass). I’ve had an office at the Coop for 20 years and in all that time I might have seen 5 people use that overpass. The Ol’Enos Driving Range over by CA Johnson (James E. Clyburn Golf Center) is another little used vanity project. The “Ol’Enos school of Drivin” “AKA – The Clyburn Transportation Center” at SCSU has been a pit of waste, fraud and abuse since it was first proposed.
Clyburn decries “gerrymandering” (except the gerrymandering that keeps getting him re-elected). While he has been “down for the struggle” since the early days, the truth is that he has done little to nothing for anyone in the SC 6th or the state of South Carolina.
At 83, Ol’Enos is sounding just about as coherent as his “buddy” Slow Joe. Ol’Enos’ defense of Joe the other day sounded almost as bad as Biden’s debate performance.
Exactly, look at the shape Orangeburg is in.
Do any of Enos’ girls live in Orangeburg? Or have they all been set up in Washington and Columbia?
You sound like you would be great, but even if Clyburn retired and you didn’t have to run against him, one of his children are going to walk right into that position. His tentacles are just too deep, his network of local allies too large. The 6th is hopelessly Democrat – they would vote for the Prince of Darkness himself if he had a (D) by his name on the ballot. You running against him is like Jamie Harrison running against Senator Lindsey Neocon Sparklepants, but only with much less money being wasted. But again, it’s no ‘diss against you. You just gotta recognize the sad reality.
Enos’s kids are going to have a fight with Seller’s boy for this slot.
Did Enos, uh, uh, uh keep his uh government provided driver, uh, uh after stepping down from his uh, uh, made for him leadership position?
